As team camp season is coming to an end the Idaho Vandals hosted a team camp from June 21st-23rd. Many teams from across Idaho attended the camp with many players from the Treasure Valley especially from Eagle High School earning Camp MVP awards. Here is a look at some of the camp MVPs that were decided by the Idaho Coaching Staff:
Varsity QB MVP
After transferring to Eagle, Harsin is making his presence felt all across the Valley not only walking away with a camp MVP but his recruiting is starting to pick up steam. A compact athlete with a lightning fast release Harsin is able to place the football anywhere on the field at any time. He is a plus athlete who is able to move well and make plays off schedule that defenses have a hard time scheming for. He is a tough competitor with a high football IQ and is able to read defenses with ease. He is going to be the highlight of a really strong Eagle team this season and could walk away a very decorated player when it is all said and done this season.
Varsity RB MVP
Burnham made a splash last year as a freshman for Eagle as he played in huge spots for the Mustangs. A solid athlete that has exceptional speed allowing him to be a game breaker on every play. He show elite vision for someone his age and is able to translate that in to huge runs. What separates him from other freshman is his toughness as he was asked to block much larger players last year and never shied away from contact. He is one to keep an eye on for sure as he will be a household name for years to come.
Aaron Zrno
Aaron Zrno
Varsity DB MVP
Zrno is making the jump to varsity this season and is making a name already with his DB MVP award at camp. A good athlete with a really smooth back pedal and quick reactions he is able to match up with all different types of receivers whether it is your bigger taller players or your smaller faster ones. He has the ability to really transition in and out of his back pedal and makes solid breaks on the football. He will be on everyones scouting report this season as he breaks into the line up for Eagle.
Varsity DL MVP
Twaddle-Dunham has had a monster offseason as he is not only a star football player for Centennial but also a star in track. The multi sport athleticism shows up in huge ways on the field where he has excellent balance and a powerful lower body. He has a really quick first step for a player his size and a strong punch that allows him to separate from blockers on a consistent basis. He is adding to his pass rush tool bag and it only going to improve over the summer. The sky is the limit for the Centennial prospect and we are expecting big numbers from him this year.
Highlights
Underclass QB MVP
Ramsey is on a short list of player in the 2026 class that you need to watch out for. He is a really good athlete that is able to do a bunch of different things on the football field. He is a dynamic runner of the ball with a quick release to go along with a really good pocket presence. He is able to make a variety of throws from many different arm angles and can really hurt defenses when he is on the move. His plus athleticism will allow him to play other positions this year for Eagle if he is needed but make no mistake he is a quarterback and a good one especially in the years to come.
Varsity OL MVP
Evans has a huge frame standing at 6’4” with the ability to really move laterally and get his hands on pass rushers. He has good footwork that allows him to stay balanced in his pass set and has excellent strike timing when it comes to disrupting pass rushers. He has added good weight in the offseason and should be able to dominate in the trenches this year with more strength and weight behind him. Wouldn’t be surprised if he make a push as an all state player this year for the Mustangs.
Varsity LB MVP
Mikita is a household name at this point in his career as a three year starter for Eagle. He plays the game with violent intentions and has the speed of defensive back to make plays all over the field. His leadership is what really sets him a part from many of the top linebackers in the state where he constantly is looked to in order to make all the checks and adjustments for his team. He is a sure tackler and excellent in coverage with the ability to blitz along with rushing the passer. He is an all around player and will be one of the most decorated athletes in this years senior class we have no doubt.
Varsity TE MVP
Huish is really coming on after a strong showing at the Boise State football camp to follow it up with an MVP and a PWO to Idaho. A big time target that can do multiple things on the field whether its in the run game or pass game. He shows the ability to really dominate at the point of attack and then can split out as a receiving threat. He has soft hands and wide catch radius that makes him a matchup nightmare for defenses and should have a great senior year for the Mustangs.
Highlights
Varsity LB MVP
Giannini is the other half of the talented linebacking duo at Eagle where he uses his elite speed and vision to make plays all over the field. He is a solid open field tackler that doesnt miss very often and has excellent timing when it comes to slipping blockers and making plays in the backfield. His coverage ability is something that separates him from many other linebackers as he is able to match up in the slot or with bigger tight ends. Giannini is just a junior and will be an all league player for sure this season for the Mustangs.
