Marquez is a player that got some time his freshman year on varsity and he was able to show toughness and leadership qualities early. He is a player that is able to extend plays with his legs and can get outside the pocket to hit receivers coming back to the ball. He is able to get out and pick up some yards when the play breaks down but tries to keep his eyes downfield. He has a strong arm and can put air under the ball to give the receivers a chance. He will have to limit his turnovers but with a year under his belt he is in position to turn some heads this coming season.
Matkin will figure to be in a QB competition this season but will have some help at RB if he is able to walk away with the job. He is a player that excels at intermediate to deep passes showing great touch getting it to where only his receivers can catch the ball. He can scan the field to find an open receiver and get it to them coming out of cuts. On the deep ball he is able to put enough air under the ball so receivers can run under the ball. When they get down in the redzone he can put it on the back shoulder and can fit it into tight windows.
Gray is a player that got some time as a freshman and was able to show how explosive he can be with his legs. He was the second leading rusher on his team and was able to punch it in 6 times as well. He is a big physical runner who can make defenders miss and is hard to bring down at times. He was also able to show some sparks in the passing game being able to connect for 6 touchdowns through the air. He excels at short to intermediate passes, getting the ball out quickly. He will have to limit his turnovers but is a duel-threat QB to keep an eye on moving forward.
Highlights
Hageman is a player that will probably be waiting in the wings learning from a stud at the position but will definitely be a QB to keep an eye on moving forward. He has great vision and can scan the field quickly, putting the ball to only where the receiver can catch the ball. He can make every throw on the field but excels at intermediate to deep throws, hitting receivers in stride. When he takes off with the ball he uses his vision to find the hole and then can turn on the jets to outrun defenders. He can make throws on the run and can extend the play moving the pocket and hitting crossers when they get to open spaces.
Highlights
Dietsch is a player that can make some things happen with his legs and will bring some versatility if he is able to take the job this season. He excels at intermediate passes and can hit receivers quickly and in stride. He has a strong arm and can fit the ball into tight windows, letting his teammates create after they catch the ball. When he keeps the ball when they run zone he shows great vision and can bounce the ball to the outside to pick up extra yardage. He is hard to bring down when he gets into the open field and can make the first defender miss at times.
