Day two of the event was Thursday and Prep Redzone was on hand at the event to watch the quarterbacks perform in the drills a college quarterback would perform at a pro day for scouts.
Here were the top five performers who stood out to me and got high scores from the judges at the event.
MVP
One prominent scout said that Julian Sayin Julian Sayin 6’1″ | 195 lbs | QB Carlsbad | 2024 State CA played it safe on day one of the event and was a slight disappointment. That was not the case on day two and Sayin was slinging the ball to various spots on the field.
The Alabama commit had the tightest spiral of any quarterback at the event. Of the 20 throws he made, 19 of them were right on target and the one he missed was the most difficult throw of the day. He added more difficulty to that throw by attempting a jump pass and he still threw a nice ball, it was just a foot out of bounds.
Sayin was awarded a 49 out of 50 score which was the best of the day.
THE NEXT FOUR
Dylan Raiola is the top quarterback in the nation according to 247Sports and it’s easy to see why.
The ball just comes out of his hand differently than a lot of quarterbacks and gets to the receiver in a hurry. He makes the deep throws look easy and doesn’t have to strain to get the ball 40 yards down the field in stride.
I had him making 19 of the 20 throws very accurately and the only one he missed was the last one, which is arguably the most difficult of the event. He’s bigger than I expected in person and he is definitely confident in his game.
Raiola was one of two quarterbacks committed to Georgia at the event and was the better of the two on Thursday.
William Hammond William Hammond 6’2″ | 195 lbs | QB Hutto | 2024 State TX was the first high school quarterback to compete after a handful of college quarterbacks ran the drill. He didn’t disappoint and had the highest score of the day with 45 until Sayin went late in the event.
I had Hammond making 17 of the 20 throws and he was extremely accurate on the intermediate level throws. I had never seen Hammond before and was pleasantly surprised with the accuracy and poise.
The Notre Dame commit didn’t have the strongest arm at the event, but he has a fluid throwing motion and was consistent throughout the 20 throws.
CJ Carr was given a 44 out of 50 score which tied Raiola for the third best of the day. He was able to hit receivers in stride and had good timing on the out and comeback routes.
Highlights
Prentiss Noland or “Air” Noland, was the only lefty at the event and he impressed me with his arm talent.
I had him making 18 of the 20 throws accurately and one was borderline that I may have been harsh with. The most difficult throw of the day for all the quarterbacks was the fifth one, a rollout throw to the pylon, and he had to make it rolling to his weaker side and he nailed the throw.
He was accurate to all three levels and had a lot of zip on the underneath throws. There was a lot of hype about his accuracy and it was evident on Thursday night. Rivals had him as the MVP of night one of the event and in my opinion he was a top five guy on night two.
