Check out a few notes on nine eye-catchers from the Tigers’ final camp of the summer, with a focus on the linemen’s sessions.
The players, listed in alphabetical order, include a mix of more established players and newer faces who stood out.
Richard Anderson Richard Anderson 6'4" | 280 lbs | DL Edna Karr | 2026 State LA — 6-4, 280 DL — Edna Karr (2026)
Coaches praised the rising sophomore’s work during the spring as he continues to work to live up to high expectations — both as a next top defensive lineman at a program with a strong track record at the position and as a young prospect with a string of notable offers, including LSU, already under his belt. Anderson won reps from three-tech positions on both the right and left sides with impressive quickness at his size to get guards off balance and violent hands that helped throw them further from his way.
Lamar Brown Lamar Brown 6'4" | 260 lbs | OL University Lab | 2026 State LA — 6-4, 260 OL/DL — University Lab (2026)
The Cubs’ two-way and multisport standout earned some recognition earlier this month for his performance on defense at a previous LSU camp. And he looked good Saturday in his offensive drill work — smooth and quick on his feet with his tall, long frame — and in a few of his one-on-one reps despite being consistently matched up against top older edge rushers, work that should serve him well as he continues to learn and develop on that side of the ball.
Kolaj Cobbins Kolaj Cobbins 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Destrehan | 2024 State LA — 6-3, 215 LB/DL — Destrehan (2024)
The LSU-committed edge rusher has continued bulking up physically, looking more and more the part, and was outright dominant Saturday in his one-on-one reps, winning all but one and making most look almost effortless with one blocker after another immediately on his heels from Cobbins’ explosive first step.
Nate Green Nate Green 6'4" | 245 lbs | OL West Monroe | 2024 State LA — 6-4, 245 TE/OL — West Monroe (2024)
One of the breakout performers of the event, the Rebels’ tight end was impressive working as an offensive lineman — including being the only blocker to win a one-on-one rep against Cobbins. Green took a leap in the Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings earlier this year largely because of his potential as an offensive lineman if he transitioned into that role, and he looked promising working there Saturday even against stout competition.
D.K. Mays D.K. Mays 6'4" | 250 lbs | DL Central (Baton Rouge) | 2025 State LA — 6-4, 240 DL — Central (Baton Rouge) (2025)
The rising junior edge rusher has been generating buzz throughout a busy June — including his first two offers coming from Nicholls State and Southeast Missouri State — and Saturday marked Prep Redzone Louisiana’s first extended look at him. Mays has an eye-catching frame and moves well and with a high motor. He’ll be a definite addition to the 2025 rankings during the upcoming summer update and an intriguing potential Power Five breakout candidate to watch.
Jon Moore-Leday — 5-4, 225 DL — Lafayette Christian (2024)
Onlookers reacted with typical surprise as the shorter Moore-Leday slipped smoothly past a blocker on his first one-on-one rep and cruised to the quarterback dummy. But LSU-committed Ruston defensive lineman Ahmad Breaux Ahmad Breaux 6'3" | 260 lbs | DL Ruston | 2024 State LA , whose Bearcats played Lafayette Christian this fall, was quick to point out that that performance was typical for the Knights’ defensive tackle. Moore-Leday is strong and plays with great leverage and motor to consistently exceed expectations and help anchor his team’s line.
Delwin Perkins Jr. — 5-9, 150 DB — Amite (2027)
Prep Redzone Louisiana watched the linemen work during the one-on-one sessions. But “Dejay” was one of a few rising freshmen — including Ashton Stark Ashton Stark 5'9" | 150 lbs | WR Lutcher | 2027 State LA of Lutcher and Kendrick Joseph Jr. of St. James — to generate some buzz during the event. Perkins has good height for his age and long arms and plays with confidence, poise and physicality even against far older competition during lockdown one-on-one reps.
Terrol Reimonenq — 5-10, 225 DL — G.W. Carver (2024)
Another new name who had a nice showing at the event was Reimonenq. The Carver defensive tackle didn’t have the eye-catching frame of a Mays or Brown, but had enough quickness and timing to keep offensive linemen off balance and then overpower them with his strength.
Michael Turner Michael Turner 6'1" | 145 lbs | ATH John Curtis | 2024 State LA Jr. — 6-1, 160 WR/DB — John Curtis (2024)
The headline coming out of event was the two-way, multisport Patriots star securing his scholarship offer after an extended workout with wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton with offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, coach Brian Kelly and director of recruiting Jon Randall Belton all watching on. Turner’s track speed — which he confirmed with a 4.29-second 40-yard dash time to start the day — and smooth athleticism — which he put on full display in the workout — have helped fuel a run of nearly 30 offers in the past few months with the Tigers becoming the latest.
