Continue ReadingIt has been tough for me to group together all of Missouri’s 2024 receiver class. However, with this group I am confident that they all have more talent than their recruitment would suggest. For various reasons, I believe that the six players below will have more than one coach late to their recruitment parties. Let’s take a look at what makes this group some of the most talented playmakers in their class.
Aaron Rimson VI
Aaron Rimson VI
Aaron Rimson is an explosive receiver out of Kansas City. Aaron received his first offer from Central Methodist this past week. Aaron also visited Washburn and Drake this spring. I would expect the versatile playmaker’s recruitment to heat up before the 2023 season ends.
Aaron’s next level burst shows splitting two defensive backs after catching a hitch near the line of scrimmage. Good vision, long speed, and playmaking ability show successfully reversing field as a kick returner. Aaron shows good quickness and route running ability separating on underneath routes. Return ability and elusiveness could get him on the field early as a gadget player at the next level.
Jadis Jones Jadis Jones 6’4″ | 200 lbs | WR New Madrid County Central | 2024 State MO is another receiver on this list who may be destined for the basketball court in college. However, the basketball state champion holds five different scholarship offers to play football. With SEMO and Missouri State offering Jadis, look for more schools in the region to offer the true #1 receiver prospect.
Jadis’ good balance and strength shows completing contested catches then shedding defenders to earn extra yardage. Next level acceleration shows splitting defenders for touchdowns after catching screens behind the line of scrimmage. Quickness and elusiveness get highlighted when Jadis creates chunk plays by shaking defenders as an underneath receiver. Jadis’ good combination of size, speed, and power will lead to more football interest in the near future.
Joseph Harris is one of multiple offensive prospects for Saint Louis University High School. Joe holds offers from Ball State, Marshall, Northern Iowa, and the Air Force Academy. Expect more regional offers to come in before Joe’s senior season is over.
Joe’s elusiveness gets displayed when he uses his lateral quickness to avoid contact in the open field. Acceleration shows beating press coverage and separating from off man defenders with double moves. Next level size and strength shows catching contested balls and powering through pass interference calls to complete touchdown catches. Joe has the size, speed, and experience to fit in at any position in a college receiver room.
Tyree Bonnett Tyree Bonnett 6’1″ | 210 lbs | WR Marquette | 2024 State MO is primed to be the go-to playmaker for Marquette High School. Tyree has most recently visited Kansas and the University of Miami in Ohio. I would expect his first offer to come from somewhere close to home sooner rather than later.
Tyree’s good size and speed gets displayed overpowering defensive backs in press coverage then accelerating to stack them vertically with ease. Run after catch ability shows in Tyree’s willingness to switch between lateral quickness and a stiff arm in order to win one on one as a ball carrier. Solid hands and strength shows completing contested catches outside of his frame. Tyree tracks the ball well and shows a good understanding of coverage in the way he settles and finds holes in defenses’ zones.
