The Redzone Elite national 7v7 tournament is a massive event where athletes traveled from all over the country to showcase their talents while fighting for the championship title. With the number of matches that took place over the weekend, seeing every player from each team was no easy task.
This article will briefly examine six defenders from Colorado teams who had impressive showings on Sunday at the Redzone Elite 7v7 tournament.
Mason Moreno (2024) is a running back at Columbine who played in the secondary for the Ducks7v7 at the tournament. Moreno garnered attention early because of his quickness and overall speed before truly standing out as a playmaker. He helped seal a big victory by snagging an interception during a playoff game. Like many players, Moreno’s time in 7-on-7 showed his versatility by shining in a different position.
Wyatt Keegan Wyatt Keegan 5'8" | 150 lbs | DB Fairview | 2025 State CO (2025) is a cornerback at Fairview who played as a nickel for Team Full Gorilla’s 14U team. His ability to read the field, change directions, and pick up threats in his zone makes him an excellent underneath player, while his instincts and physicality help him settle into the role of a nickel corner. Keegan had an outstanding sophomore season, putting him on pace to be a breakout player this fall.
Brock Kolstad Brock Kolstad 6'0" | 215 lbs | LB Fairview | 2025 State CO (2025) is another Fairview defender who ran with Team Full Gorilla this club season. Kolstad is a massive linebacker with explosive speed and a Gladiator mentality. He can change directions instantly, making him capable of playing sideline to sideline. His size, speed, and strength make him an intimidating opponent to line up against. Kolstad is entering his third year as a varsity starting linebacker that every program in the area should have on their radar.
Tre Ogden (2025) is a budding outside linebacker from Columbine who played as a member of the Ducks7v7 program. He has decent size and moves well while maintaining active eyes when in coverage. Getting matched up against tough competition at the tournament helped Ogden showcase his skills as a coverage defender. Ogden is a newcomer to the radar, putting him on the must-watch list.
Blake Bishop (2026) from Dakota Ridge was arguably the most impressive safety during the RZE 7v7 tournament. While playing for Team Full Gorilla’s 14U team, Bishop completed most matches with multiple interceptions. His ability to flow in coverage and be in the right spot at the right time stems from his exceptional instincts. Bishop is a young player with a bright future, making him a prospect worth investing in early.
Bryce Johnson (2026) from Fountain-Fort Carson has stood out every time he competed for the 719 Springs Elite 7v7 team. The two-way player shines in the linebacker position because of his competitive mentality and ability to play downhill. Johnson is an intriguing player who flashes legitimate potential, making him one to keep an eye on during the next couple of years.
