Griffin was a player that jumped out at you from the start of the day and ended up walking off with WR MVP. He was a player that was making an impact on both sides of the ball and I liked the things he was able to do at DB. He was at corner and was able to reroute receivers at times, staying in their hip pocket. He was anticipating route and making quick breaks on the ball, playing through the receivers hands and jarring it loose. On the offensive side he showed great footwork and agility in drill work. When he started working against defenders he was one of the more precise route runners and came down with some nice catches.
Daugaard was a quarterback that looked good in drill work and you could see the smooth footwork showing up throughout the day. In indy he looked comfortable and was able to focus on hitting his target. The ball was jumping out of his hand and was able to put the ball right on the receiver. He was an even keel quarterback, making the right decision and not forcing things downfield. I liked seeing that he didn’t stray from his playing style and continued to work through his progression. Taking the check down when he had it. Will be one of the quarterbacks from the tour to keep an eye on moving forward.
Coar was a player that wanted to show that he has some speed and was able to do that when they transitioned into indy work. He has that quick burst and is able to create separation when he gets into the open field. In drill work he was showing great footwork and ability to hold onto the ball without having to slow down. When he started working against the defense he was able to show off his route running ability and soft hands being able to come down with the ball. His underneath routes looked precise and got the defenders off balance. He had an overall solid day and will continue to pop on more radars moving forward.
Highlights
Hill was a player that stood out all day and was able to walk away with the DB MVP. He showed that quickness and burst in the timed portion and was able to carry that over to drill work as well. When they got to one-on-ones he was not afraid of competition and was constantly jumping out against the best receivers, holding his own and winning at a high rate. He is a player that is transitioning from LB but he looked fluent in coverage and was smothering receivers, being in their hip pocket the entire route. He will continue to be a player that will raise his stock and will have a lot of eyes on him moving forward.
Highlights
Emgarten was a player that quietly had himself a day and was good in coverage working against the receivers. In drill work he looked smooth and had good footwork, exploding out of his breaks. When they started working group drills, when he was up it seemed as if he was constantly taking away his receiver from the play. He showed good vision being a ball hawk and was able to come away with 1 of the 2 interceptions on the day. On the offensive end he shows soft hands and is shifty, being able to get behind the defense and lose defenders in coverage.
Brennan Weaver
Brennan Weaver
Weaver is a player that is under the radar but was able to make an impression at the prospect tour. He was a player that was coachable and showed good feet in indy drills. He is a backer that is able to use his strength to his advantage and can work his hands in pass rush drills. In the drill he showed the ability to have a good get off, exploding off of the line and getting on top of the blocker ripping past the lineman. He looks natural in coverage and can come up rallying to the underneath passes. Will be a defensive player to keep an eye on from this camp.
