There were players putting up impressive vertical displays in the broad jump. Just when my jaw dropped at a time that a player finished with, another player would come along and top that one. Out of all of the prospects that stood out, I am going to talk about the best jumps by position for the defensive players. Lets find out who made the list.
Zachery Warren Zachery Warren 6’1″ | DB Mustang | 2024 State OK was impressive in the broad jump. He had the best jumps out of any of the defensive backs. His first attempt was way beyond anyone else’s at his position, being 10’3″. His second attempt was almost just as impressive, being 10’2″. It is remarkable seeing a 6’0 defensive back with that kind of vertical in high school. It is something that can play a big impact on the field for him moving forwards.
Ethan Nedio looked good at the combine. He recorded the two best jumps out of any of the defensive linemen. His measurements were 8’7″ and then he followed that up with the best attempt out of any of the defensive linemen, at 8’10”. It was impressive athleticism for someone at his position.
Highlights
Taylor Sowers Taylor Sowers 5’10” | 175 lbs | LB Coweta | 2024 State OK was impressive throughout the whole combine. He had the best measurements in this drill out of all of the linebackers. His two attempts were both two of the top ones that we saw throughout the event. His first attempt saw him measure 10’0″. His second one took a step forwards, being at 10’2″. It was impressive to watch him dominate in this drill, just like he did some of the other ones. What a performance for him.
Behrett Boyd Behrett Boyd 5’10” | 195 lbs | LB Norman | 2025 State OK looked impressive in the broad jump, but also throughout the whole camp. He was named the Most Valuable Player for the linebackers. That was reflective in his performance, as he recorded a staggering 9’5″ and then slightly dipped to 9’4″. It was an all-around performance for him.
