As most know, all state selections are heavily dictated by team success.  If your HS program is winning, you're much more likely to receive this type of recognition. This is NOT a recruitment-based list although many of the top recruits are listed as all state athletes. Have a look at the pre-season 1st & 2nd team all state picks as of right now, along with the leading candidates for 6A POY honors        6A Offensive POY Candidates (#1-3)       1.[player_tooltip player_id='152354' first='Cru' last='Newman'] 6-0 180 QB 24' Central Catholic   The 2X Mt Hood POY has accounted for 74 TDs (63 passing, 11 rushing) with only 7 INTs over the last two seasons, hitting on 67% of his passes and totaling 6,412 yards. One of the most ridiculous stat lines of any QB in state history. If the Rams win the 6A title, he is your state player of the year.    2.[player_tooltip player_id='152333' first='Lonnie' last='Burt'] Jr. 6-1 210 RB/LB 24' Jesuit    Burt was a 1st team all-league LB last year and will be a Metro League POY favorite on both sides of the football next season. With the graduation of [player_tooltip player_id='205822' first='Payton' last='Roth'], look for Burt Jr. to carry the ball 30 times per game and go for over 2000+ yards on the year. As good as he is on D, he has the potential of being a division 1 running back.    3.[player_tooltip player_id='152337' first='Wiley' last='Donnerberg'] 6-3 205 WR 24' West Linn    As a junior Donnerberg caught 30 passes for 586 yards and 5 TDs. It's possible he ends up the #1 recruit in the state when all is said and done. He's that good.
