The swiss army knife that is Myquan Rush Myquan Rush 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Barnegat | 2025 NJ is all over the field and does a bunch of things for the Barnegat Bengals to win football games. Standing at 5’8 165 pounds
he plays a physical brand of football that allows him to be a difference-maker on the defensive side. This is where his biggest impact is felt as he is a defensive back with much versatility who can play outside corner and strong safety. Since he’s currently a sophomore, he has an upward trajectory, where if he decided that he could play the slot, his long-term outlook in terms of playing college football at the division one level could be achieved.
Myquan could do well covering short areas and underneath routes but has a good film covering downfield. He has solid burst when playing downhill which makes him an effective tackler. He also has good hips, which allows him to change direction effectively.
Myquan is an up-and-coming defensive back who will be a name that many people won’t know but will be one of the most versatile players in the state on the defensive side.
Highlights
Simply put Armorr is a playmaker on both sides of the football. As a defensive player, he moves fluently as a defensive back, specifically at cornerback. He has good size at 6’1 170 pounds but he looks bigger because of his long frame. He’s able to play routes down the field and be feisty at the catch point.
As an offensive player, he’s also a smooth mover who can win down the football field and knows how to use his frame to box out smaller, defensive backs.
Although I believe his best fit is on defense, he has promise on both sides of the ball, and since he’s not even a sophomore yet his possibilities are endless. He’ll be one of the top prospects in the 2026 class as he continues to develop. Mekhi will also switch schools as he’s going from Paramus Catholic to Weequahic.
Harrell is another solid defensive back from DePaul Catholic who has been tested against the best competition.
One thing that immediately stands out on tape about Harrell is his ability to play downhill. He’s a solid tackler at the cornerback position and plays with solid burst, which allows him to cover shorter routes effectively.
He’s not as big as the other corners on his team as he just cracks to the 510 mark, however, he’s played some of the best wide receivers in the state of New Jersey and held his own as far as playing routes down the field, effectively and 50-50 situations. Between Jaelyne Harrell and DaeSean Stewart, I’m very intrigued to see who will have the bigger breakout year.
There is nothing sexy about Matthew’s game, however, Matthew will make a lot of plays that will be impactful over the course of a given football game.
He has a nose for the football and seems to always be around the action whether it’s in coverage, patrolling the middle, or seem to be around the football for fumble, recoveries, and turnovers. he has a good size at 6 foot 210 pounds and it’s best suited to play in the box.
He’s not an overly explosive or fast player but he’s effective as a blitzer, has a good motor, reads his keys well, and can lineup on the line of scrimmage or in the box, bringing much versatility to a defense. Depaul Catholic’s defense is full of underrated prospects. Matthew is one that gets overlooked, but he will have his name in consideration for best linebacker in the state.
