Myquan Rush Myquan Rush 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Barnegat | 2025 State NJ is a prospect I am super excited to watch in person and has best-back-in-attendance potential. Having watched his film not too long ago as we are preparing to revamp the 2025 player rankings, I was thoroughly impressed. Rush does not rush things and is patient, letting things come to him. He follows his blockers and will make cutbacks at the second level to rip off big gainers. Once they are at the point of attack is when Rush turns on the jets. Further, he moves laterally very well when decides to bounce. Similarly, he can change directions while in the backfield and nimbly return to top speed quickly. He is too strong to be taken down by weak tackles. At times Rush keeps the ball a bit too far away for my liking – something that can easily be cleaned up.

As teammate Cole Toddings Cole Toddings 6'2" | 195 lbs | LB Barnegat | 2025 State NJ patrols Barnegat’s defensive front-7, Myquan Rush Myquan Rush 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Barnegat | 2025 State NJ owns the Bengal’s back-7. From his safety spot, Rush (5’8″ 170lb) made 85 tackles, 2 Int, 2 FF, 7 PBU, blocked 2 kicks, and returned 1 punt for a TD.
When Rush has the ball in his hands, you best protect the sideline; for should Rush gain the edge, he is going to cause some serious damage. Rush is fluid when he reacts to the ball in flight, often jumping passes to make turnovers. He is well-coached, playing the ball when he goes in for a tackle or to break up a pass. Along the lines of how he responds to coaching, he is alway early to the pass and late to the run, but manages to fill the alley and get there in a hurry. Disciplined too, Rush knows when to just sit back and settle in a zone when lots of routes are coming at him, then break in response to the pass. Rush will do his damnedest to stick you when making a tackle, putting his all into it. I would love to see more clips of Rush in man coverage to get a sense for how he performs in that phase.
With two big-time, returning talents on the defensive side of the ball, I fully expect Barnegat to be in contention for their division, the playoffs, and a championship.
