Relatively well-built back with a low center of gravity. Was asked to execute a relatively high rate of outside zone runs. Patiently waits for lanes to open before hitting the hole. Shows some ability to recognize cutback lanes, with adequate footwork to shuffle into lanes. Build-up speed is good enough to rip off the occasional chunk play. Able to run through some arm tackles when navigating through congestion. Has active legs after contact to push the pile and regularly falls forward at the end of his runs. Gets behind his pads and can deliver some blows to second-level defenders.
Patient enough to wait for lanes to open, and awareness is good enough to recognize cutback opportunities. Footwork is adequate to shuffle into lanes when running downhill; occasionally able to sidestep penetration and salvage plays. Gets up to speed relatively quickly and runs behind his pads. Powerful enough to run though arm tackles once he gets going. Finishes runs and exacts a price from defenders who tackle him. Vision in space is surprisingly good for a player with his body type, showing some ability to weave through second-level defenders.
Has a somewhat thick build and runs with a low center of gravity. Smooth accelerator who gets upfield quickly, minimizing negative-yardage runs. Juice is sufficient to get to the outside on off-tackle runs and sweeps. Good eyes to recognize cutback opportunities off of stretch plays, with at least adequate footwork and good quickness to maneuver into lanes. Navigates well through congestion. Can make second-level defenders miss in space. Fights for additional yardage after contact and generally falls forward at the end of runs, pinballing forward off of contact.
Highlights
Hard-charging, galloping runner with excellent burst/acceleration and solid deep speed; doesn’t waste time hitting the hole when he finds a lane, being happy to execute the concept as called if possible. Overall vision is very solid, consistently recognizing cutback lanes. Has very quick feet to shuffle and find lanes; nice jump-cuts in the backfield. Capable of making the first man miss, with impressive jukes to break free. Fast enough to outrun defenders to the corner, with a good stiff-arm when he’s near the boundary. Fights to finish runs, with good leg drive to gain additional yardage after contact. Flexibility and contact balance are both very good.
Runs with good knee bend and a low center of gravity. Has quick feet and makes clean cuts in the backfield. Makes solid decisions, showing good vision and patience. Possesses good burst in the hole and wastes little time hitting the line when the blocking is there. Smooth accelerator on outside rushing attempts, with above-average top-end speed. Very flexible, elusive player in space; difficult to bring down in one-on-one situations when he gets to the outside/second level, making sharp cuts and showing impressive stop/start skills. Able to run through some arm tackles once he gets going.
