Continue ReadingAs we continue to examine the 2025 wide receiver class. We dive into some prospects who are under the radar but have many traits and talents that help them get the job done. In this article, I will highlight each receiver’s best trait and area to improve. Or offer where I believe their long-term fit should be.
STRENGTHS: SPEED, ACCELERATION
AREA OF IMPROVEMENT: ROUTE RUNNING
Phillip is a wide receiver who has no shortage of speed in his game. And his coach utilizes him in such a way that he’s able to consistently put his ability on display. He can win on deep routes, double moves, and screen passes. When you have the ball in his hand positive things happen.
Where Phillip needs to grow his game to improve his route running. As fast as he is he doesn’t use his speed as a weapon in the route running since. Therefore he doesn’t create as much separation as he could and is as dominant as I think he can become.
Folmar came on in the playoffs last year with some key performances, therefore I fully expect him to be a more complete receiver going into his junior year.
STRENGTHS: FRAME, SIZE, PLAY AT CATCH POINT
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: ROUTE RUNNING, ROUTE RUNNING, LEVEL OF COMPETITION.
Justin Klotz Justin Klotz 6'1" | 160 lbs | WR Hopewell Valley | 2025 State NJ stands at 6’3 185 pounds and knows how to use his size and frame to make plays. He excels at meeting the ball at its highest to win jump ball opportunities and does a good job using his body on slant routes to win in short-yardage and red-zone opportunities.
He does have some sneaky movement ability and there is some evidence that he has been working on his route running. But as far as the level of competition is concerned, a lot of his highlights came against one team or teams that don’t have talent as good as he is. As a result, this isn’t indicative of his talent or his ability to play football. However, I would like to see if the same results happen against the better competition.
STRENGTHS: FRAME, VERSATILITY, EXPLOSIVNESS,
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: BUILT TO BE A MODERN-DAY DEFENDER
Out of the many talents that Forest has, one of them is playing wide receiver. He’s as versatile as they come and is utilized properly where there are many opportunities created to have the ball in his hands. As impressive as he is a wideout and a ball carrier. I truly believe he can separate himself as a full-time defensive player and promote himself as a cornerback/safety hybrid player.
There aren’t many players who have his combination of size and length. Not to mention he has impressive ball skills and instincts while playing safety.
He doesn’t currently have an offer, but I believe once he puts out tape of him playing cornerback and safety more POWER 5 colleges will give Forest a serious look.
Highlights
STRENGTHS: SUPERIOR ATHLETICISM
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: NEEDS TO PLAY AROUND WITH USING DIFFERENT TEMPOS AS A ROUTE RUNNER
Reyes may be the best athlete in this entire class. His ability to cover ground in a hurry is something that college coaches have quickly taken notice of since he received his first division one offer from The University of Maryland.
As a wide receiver, Reyes has the foot speed that maybe only one other player in this class has and as a result, consistently makes opposing defenders look slow.
He also has a strong build where he has a thick upper and lower body which makes it tough for the opposing players to tackle if there lucky enough to get close to him.
The area of improvement that guys with speed always have a hard time with is the ability to play under control. It’s not to say Reyes plays out of control but if he honed in becoming a nuanced route runner he can become almost unguardable.
STRENGTHS: LENGTH, FRAME, SIZE, INSTINCTS
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: SPEED
Williams is one of the longest athletes in the class and he uses it to his advantage. He has most of the physical tools you look for in a top prospect. Specifically, a prospect that’s suited to play on the defensive side of the ball. While he has explosive plays down the football field he doesn’t have the required speed to be a difference-maker as a wide receiver. As a result, defense is where I believe his long-term future lies. If he keeps down the path of consistency there should be no reason why he can’t be a solid player at the collegiate level maybe even on the most optimistic side be an NFL prospect.
