This was another position that had standouts from the junior, sophomore, and freshman classes. That included a standout freshman winning position MVP. Let’s get started with this talented, athletic group!
Pewaukee High School has been home to many impressive defensive players over the years. One of the athletes next up at LB for them is Charlie Rumohr Charlie Rumohr 6’1″ | 200 lbs | LB Pewaukee | 2024 State WI . The 5’11” 190 lbs junior impressed me on tape with his run stuffing. He used agility and instincts to play through the trenches and trash without being stopped on his way to the ball. At the showcase I was looking forward to seeing him play in space and coverage. After the showcase it was clear that it was a raw part of his game, but the instincts I saw on tape were noticeable in the one on ones. If he can continue to develop his change of direction then Charles will be a well rounded, three down option at LB for the D3 level, and potentially higher.
Checking in at 5’11” 187 lbs, the junior LB out of Racine Case had himself a day! He posted the fastest 40 of the group at 4.62 seconds, and broad jumped 9’3″. Michael is an undersized prospect, but fits the mold of a third down LB that can play in space and make an impact against the passing game. Michael has the effort, speed, and instincts to be a rangy LB. I really liked the confidence he played with in the one on one battles to end the day too. He got physical with the RBs, reacted well to the route breaks, and was able to run with them deep. I’m excited to see how he plays his senior season. Name to know.
William Simmons
William Simmons
The biggest LB of the group was 5’11” 231 lbs junior William Simmons. Simmons is an athlete who plays all over the field for WLA. I believe that DL might be his best fit at the next level. That is where he can play to his best strengths. Then his stoutness, strength, and disruptiveness can be maximized. Simmons posted a 5.25 50 yard dash, and a 4.93 shuttle time. Both would be among the best in the DL group. He is going to standout as a run defender this fall. Don’t overlook him.
One of the best performers of the day was the Tomah sophomore LB. He measured in at just over 5’11” 190 lbs. While not the biggest prospect, the sophomore shined with his athleticism. He is another prospect who made a noticeably large jump since our last Showcase. He ran a 4.90 40, a blazing 4.35 shuttle time, and broad jumped 9’4″. No question, Bruce is an athletic LB prospect that is an impact player out in space. Rezin further proved it with his performance in the one on one battles. The rangy LB was able to quickly react, break, and run deep with the RBs in attendance. He played the ball well too. Timing his swats and jumping of the routes well. As he becomes an upperclassman this fall I expect to see some big games from him.
Highlights
Sawyer put himself on my radar with a solid showing. He checked in at a well put together 6’1″ 190 lbs. He ran a 5.03 and jumped 8’6″. Great starting points for a freshman looking to develop himself into a next level prospect. The underclassman faced a lot of higher competition throughout the day, and was up for the challenge. Despite not having a ton of experience under his belt, Sawyer looked solid in space. As his instincts continue to develop with experience we could see him make big strides because he has the athletic traits to build upon. The freshman has a solid future ahead of him.
Brock is a freshman who has already partaken in two PRZ WI Prospect Showcases. His second performance has told me that Gauthier is a quickly developing athlete who is going to be a name to know the rest of his HS career. Read about his full performance in the MVP article HERE.
