The Rising Prospect Tour made a stop in Fort Worth, Texas this weekend. I was glad I made the trip from MS to Texas to check it out. I was not disappointed. There were some studs there doing their thing.

[player_tooltip player_id='459140' first='Camren' last='Phillips'], QB, 2028

Phillips is a stud that I got a chance to see this weekend. I'm anxious to witness his physical growth over the years. He has some nice mechanics when he throws the football. I was impressed at how he consistently placed the football on the outside shoulder of the receivers for deep passes. He also throws the ball very well on short passes. He isn't the biggest guy out there, but he handles business.

[player_tooltip player_id='512765' first='Davis' last='Carruth'], WR, Parkland Academy, 2027

Carruth was the truth today. He is very competitive. When the ball is thrown, he wants to be the one to come down with it. Carruth needs to work on his route running this off-season. He also all the tools to be a great football player. He made the drive all the way from McComb, Mississippi to attend this showcase. He did not disappoint.

[player_tooltip player_id='485378' first='Christopher' last='Jackson Jr.'] , WR, Duncanville Byrd Middle School

Jackson is a guy I was glad I got to see. He is going to be a problem at receiver. He is a big boy that knows how to handle his body. There aren't many defenders who can stop him. He runs a very beautiful comeback and out route. He has good hands, and decent speed. Jackson is definitely a guy I will be keeping up with.

Mekhi Mitchell, WR, Delta Academy, 2027

Mitchell was another guy that I was impressed with. He is a smooth route runner to only be an 8th grader. He also has good soft hands. Mitchell is a natural receiver at a young age. He also has great sportsmanship. That takes athletes a long way. He is a guy I can't wait to see play on the varsity level.

[player_tooltip player_id='485633' first='Kenyen' last='Cotton'], RB, 2027, Richard Allie Middle School

Cotton is a blazing fast young man. The kid was clocked at a 4.5 40 hand time the other day. That is very impressive for his age. He also was moving around in the drills very well. He is a guy to know. His speed his going to have coaches intrigued for years. Cotton needs to work on his routes as well. He is young with a lot of room to grow.

Christopher Sweet, LB, Brown Middle School, 2027

Sweet is a player that caught my attention at the beginning of the camp. I love the way he moves during drills. He keeps his hips sunk when moving side to side. He has good footwork and nice soft hands. Sweet is going to be a guy to keep up with. He also has good size standing at 6-1 160.

[player_tooltip player_id='409898' first='Justyce' last='Hendricks'], QB, Lake Belton Middle School, 2028

Hendricks is a guy that is going to grow into a nice quarterback. He is already very smooth with his footwork. He puts a beautiful spin on the football. Hendricks was a guy out there hitting his receivers in stride. He looks like he could possibly hit a growth spurt one day as well. His arm is very nice. He was also hitting the back shoulder on the fade routes. Keep up with this young man.
