The young fellas came out to showcase their skills Sunday morning and they did not disappoint! On a rainy day, these young stars did not allow the weather to stop them from competing and catching eyes! Here we will have a list of players who stood out and looked to be unstoppable at times in the competition drills. These players look to have a very bright future ahead of them.
Brody Knowles Brody Knowles 6'6" | 180 lbs | WR Southlake Carroll | 2027 State TX | WR | 2027 | Dawson Middle School
Knowles stood out immediately when he hit the field. Standing at 6’4, Knowles already has a long frame and showed good control of his body. He got in and out of his breaks in drill work, and showed a very good change of direction on the 3-cone drill. During one on one work, Knowles was one of the spotlights. With such a wide catch radius and confident hands, Knowles was a favorite target for the quarterbacks. He walked away as one of the top performers and gave people something to talk about! He will be an exciting prospect as he continues to develop.
Derrick Gleason III Derrick Gleason III 6'1" | 280 lbs | DL North Crowley | 2027 State TX | DL | 2027 | Crowley Middle School
Whew Gleason was putting on a show during the one on ones! At 6’1, 190, Gleason showed very good power and strength with a strong lower half. Gleason’s bull rush was unstoppable but he also showed great quickness and a great get off. He was very coachable during positional work and put everything together in the end of the showcase.
LaBroderick Wilson Jr. | DB | 2028 | Caddo Middle Magnet
Wilson seemed to do everything right at the corner position. He was fluid and moved very well in drill work, and let that carry over to the competition portion of the showcase. Wilson was locked in from the start, posting very good testing times and catching the eyes of many. Wilson was in control and matched well with just about everybody.
Flander Malone Flander Malone 5'10" | 190 lbs | LB Lake Ridge | 2027 TX | LB | 2027 | Danny Jones Middle
Malone was the outstanding linebacker for this showcase due to his ability to move in space and defend the running backs coming out of the backfield. He was very coachable during group work and transitioned his work to the one on ones. Malone has a good frame on him and will be one to continue to watch for as he develops.
Markavion Hill | RB | 2027 | Tidwell
Hill was just a flash during drill work showing off his quickness and burst. He moved very well showing good twitch and change of direction early in his playing career which is a major plus. Hill caught the eyes of the coaches during positional drills where he moved smoothly through the cones and added to his great day by doing work in the competition half of the day.
Warrick Vanblaricon | OL | 2027 | Salina Central
Vanblaricon was on another level during this showcase. Physical, coachable, and finished his drills. It is never easy for linemen to stand out without pads, but Vanblaricon definitely did it. He has terrific size to him with long arms and a solid base. He showed a strong first punch in drill work and just dominated during the one on ones. He will be a name to follow for the next few years.
Zephyr Kreye Zephyr Kreye 6'4" | 200 lbs | QB Denton Guyer | 2027 State TX | QB | 2027 | Harpool Middle
Kreye took home the title of outstanding quarterback and watching him work backs up the case. His footwork was great, weaving in and out of bags and he has a very good zip on his throws. Kreye stands tall in the pocket at 6’2, and puts the ball on the spot with good velocity. He keeps a tight spiral and was diming up his receivers in the end. Kreye looks the part and we may possibly hear his name much more in the coming years.
