Fiacco was one of two eighth graders to earn MVP honors on Sunday. He drew positive reactions from the coaches during the one-on-one period.
He won a lot of reps against older offensive linemen due to his quick hands and club move.
His athleticism and movement will improve as he gets older, but he is advanced for an eighth grader and I liked that he didn’t back down against older and bigger competition.
Connor was discussed when coaches were debating MVP. He had the most explosive first step of any of the defensive linemen at the event.
He does a good job immediately deflecting the offensive lineman’s arms and getting go their body. He’s a good hand fighter and is aggressive.
Klingelberg is lengthy and a good athlete. He has a nice first step and has better control of his body than a lot of defensive linemen at the event.
He needs to add some strength and weight but he has the frame to easily do that. He may be better suited as an outside linebacker at the college level, but has good pass rush moves off the edge no matter where he plays.
Highlights
Jones is a very good athlete who coaches on hand were surprised to see is an eighth grader.
He is very muscular for his age and has the frame to add plenty of size if he chooses to do so. He is fast off the edge and was excited to face the high school players.
Sometimes he tries to go too fast and loses his footing, but that’s something he will grow out of over time.
Highlights
Hildebrand is an eighth grader in Arizona who is going to Basha next season.
He stood out because of his size and multiple coaches pointed him out to me throughout the camp. He moves well for how big he is and I can’t imagine how good he will be after years in the weight room.
