Lone Star Recruiting News and Notes 4-10-23

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>College football recruiting always picks up this time of year. We have plenty of news and notes to get caught up on from over the past few weeks. All across the state we will have plenty of stories to get caught up on and it is a great way to start the week off.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Dante Archie-Running Back-Katy Taylor-5'10” 160-Pounds-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The running back out of Katy Taylor has had a busy few weeks on the recruiting trail. He is a running back that has tremendous speed. Archie does a great job of allowing a rushing lane to develop before exploding through the hole. Over the weekend, Archie had the opportunity to visit both Florida State and Auburn. Each school is one that would make excellent use of the talented running back. I expect his recruitment to be an interesting story over the next few weeks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Daniel Bray-Athlete-Cooper-5'10” 170-Pounds-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Daniel Bray has excellent versatility and can be lined up all over the field. Bray has worked effectively on both sides of the ball. From the running back position, Bray rushed for 731 yards and ten touchdowns last season. Meanwhile, from the receiver position he hauled in 22 receptions good for seven touchdowns on the season. Bray had a busy weekend on the recruiting front. He earned a scholarship offer from Texas-San Antonio and had the opportunity to visit Texas Tech. Bray is a prospect to watch out for over the next two seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='413193' first='Tice' last='Williams']-Athlete-Conroe-6'3” 187-Pounds-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The versatility that [player_tooltip player_id='413193' first='Tice' last='Williams'] possess is going to have college scouts following him all season. On the defensive side of the ball, he can play the safety, cornerback, and linebacker positions and excel at each position. He does an excellent job of making plays on the ball. Williams is always in a good position to make the tackle and he pursues the ball carrier well. Over the past few weeks, he has received scholarship offers from Eastern Illinois University and the Air Force Academy. Williams has the potential to see plenty of action on Saturdays in the future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='142441' first='Jhase' last='McMillan']-Thompkins-Defensive Back-5'11” 160-Pounds-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='142441' first='Jhase' last='McMillan'] is a defensive back that has excellent speed. The Thompkins coaching staff does a great job of lining McMillan up all over the field. Does a fantastic job of making plays on the ball. McMillan's speed makes him a nightmare for opposing wide receivers to attempt to separate from. The talented defensive back had a busy weekend, last weekend. McMillan has earned a scholarship offer from Utah State and he had visits with Texas State and Rice University over the busy Easter weekend.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='414145' first='Josiah' last='Martin']-Denton Guyer-Wide Receiver-6'0” 170-Pounds-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Denton Guyer wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='414145' first='Josiah' last='Martin'] is a prospect to watch out for this upcoming season. He combines smooth route running with impressive speed. Martin has the speed to stretch the field vertically. Martin will win the battle on hauling in the football. A few weeks ago the Alabama Crimson Tide extended a scholarship offer and this week Martin is paying a visit to the Alabama campus. He is a prospect with the potential to see the field on Saturdays in the future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
