2025 6'2 225 LB/TE - [player_tooltip player_id='193639' first='Brett' last='Clatterbaugh'] - Eastern View

If you're looking for a linebacker with next level ability then look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='193639' first='Brett' last='Clatterbaugh'] of Eastern View. Clatterbaugh also takes snaps on offense at tight end, where he's equally efficient, and he was named to both the offensive and defensive All-Region teams at those respective positions. There's simply no stopping [player_tooltip player_id='193639' first='Brett' last='Clatterbaugh'] at this level, and he already has multiple power five conference offers from programs like Notre Dame and Rutgers. In the offseason he's an exceptional wrestler, and he just won the 2023 4A Virginia State Championship for the second time. It's safe to say that [player_tooltip player_id='193639' first='Brett' last='Clatterbaugh'] is one of the top linebacker prospects in the DMV, and what he has achieved already as a young athlete is incredible. He will do great things at the collegiate level, and he even has the potential to compete in multiple sports.

2025 6'0 180 LB/RB - [player_tooltip player_id='295787' first='Colton' last='Quaker'] - Kettle Run

[player_tooltip player_id='295787' first='Colton' last='Quaker'] is an unbelievably well-rounded football player, and his talent absolutely stole the show during the 2022 season. He posted amazing numbers both carrying and defending the football, and, at running back and linebacker, his elite two way abilities earned him spots on both All-State teams. Quaker rushed for over 1,300 yards, and he also made more than 100 tackles. You'd be hard pressed to find a Sophomore player that had a more dominant statistical season than [player_tooltip player_id='295787' first='Colton' last='Quaker'] last Fall, and for that reason I believe that it's essential for scouts to recruit him very seriously. He had a historic 2022 season and it must not go unnoticed.

2025 5'10 150 LB - [player_tooltip player_id='295790' first='Ethan' last='Pate'] - King and Queen Central

[player_tooltip player_id='295790' first='Ethan' last='Pate'] was extremely effective at linebacker last Fall, and he was particularly dominant on the outside bringing pressure. On the stat sheet, Pate made a huge leap from his Freshman year, and his numbers truly speak for themselves. He accounted for 95 total tackles, 4 sacks, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble. These are spectacular Sophomore numbers, and I believe he will double those numbers in both sacks and forced turnovers next season. The Royal Tigers were one of the top teams in Virginia's 1A Division last year, and I wouldn't' be surprised at all if [player_tooltip player_id='295790' first='Ethan' last='Pate'] led them to a division title in 2023. He's a premier 2025 linebacker prospect.

2025 5'10 190 LB/RB - [player_tooltip player_id='307041' first='Isaiah' last='Lovgren'] - Landstown

[player_tooltip player_id='307041' first='Isaiah' last='Lovgren'] is a phenomenal two way player on the football field, and, during the offseason, he also thrives as a track&field star. Lovgren is absolutely the speediest linebacker prospect on this list, and it's one of the primary reasons that he defends in the secondary so well. He seamlessly drops back into coverage much better than most, and it led to a bunch of forced turnovers last year. [player_tooltip player_id='307041' first='Isaiah' last='Lovgren'] already has a D1 offer from Buffalo, and he's also drawing a lot of interest from ODU. Scouts in the Virginia Beach area must know the name [player_tooltip player_id='307041' first='Isaiah' last='Lovgren'].

2025 6'0 215 LB - Jonathan Newton - Stone Bridge

Jonathan Newton delivered a dominant season in 2022, so much so that he was named 1st Team All-Defense and received the Defensive Coaches Award at Stone Bridge. The star Sophomore linebacker recorded 66 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and multiple forced fumbles. He's on a very exciting trajectory right now, and, if he's equally as efficient during the offseason, he will continue to climb the recruitment ladder as an elite linebacker prospect. Newton and his 7v7 team were recently victorious in an 18u tournament, therefore it's clear that the 2023 season is already off to a great start. Stone Bridge finished ranked #6 in the state of Virginia last season, and, with Jonathan Newton on their roster, my prediction is that they will finish inside the top ten once again.
