Let's take an inside look at the season performances of some top skill player athletes from around the DMV.

2026 6'0 175 DB - [player_tooltip player_id='1297530' first='Chase' last='Geter'] - Stone Bridge

In the six games that he played, [player_tooltip player_id='1297530' first='Chase' last='Geter'] performed phenomenally well at the Varsity level, and he displayed a strong understanding of how to defend properly in the secondary. His speed and quickness standout when you watch him play, and both attributes were integral to his immediate success at the defensive back position. Geter made at least one tackle in every game that he participated in last season, and my early prediction is that he makes multiple interceptions during the 2023 season. I believe [player_tooltip player_id='1297530' first='Chase' last='Geter'] will create a lot of turnovers for the Bulldogs' defense this Fall, and scouts must know his name because he has a very bright future ahead of him. Geter is already drawing a ton of interest from JMU, and he was invited to participate in the You Are Athlete Regional Exposure Camp in Baltimore, MD this May.

2026 5'11 175 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='324007' first='Carson' last='Lambert'] - Benedictine

The Benedictine quarterback was recently featured in our Standout QB Series, and it must be clarified that he's actually a member of the 2026 class. This means that Lambert's future at quarterback is even brighter, as he has more time to develop and grow, and it also means that his stats from last year are now that much more impressive. [player_tooltip player_id='324007' first='Carson' last='Lambert'] finished the season with a nearly .500% completion percentage and about 100 yards per game on average. He's in a great position with the Cadets, and I believe he's capable of blowing his 2022 numbers out of the water this Fall. Benedictine will be much more competitive with consistent quarterback play, and, in the long-term, [player_tooltip player_id='324007' first='Carson' last='Lambert'] will absolutely deliver that for them.

2026 6'2 190 DB - [player_tooltip player_id='402008' first='Jireh' last='Edwards'] - St. Frances Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='402008' first='Jireh' last='Edwards'] is without a doubt one of the top defensive backs in all of Maryland, and he also has a lot of potential at free safety as well. Edwards turned a lot of heads during this offseason when he transferred from Rock Creek Christian Academy to DMV powerhouse St. Frances Academy. This move not only secures SFA's defense as the best in the country, but it also emphasizes Edwards' dominance already as a rising Sophomore. There's now no debating that the SFA Panthers have the best defense in all of high school football, and I believe that [player_tooltip player_id='402008' first='Jireh' last='Edwards'] will prove himself to be one of the shining stars on that defense in 2023. He already has D1 power five conference offers from the best of the best like: Ole Miss, Ohio State, and Tennessee. With the addition of Edwards, SFA has a very good chance of dominating the #1 overall ranking spot all season long.

2026 6'3 260 DL - [player_tooltip player_id='348844' first='James' last='Carrington'] - St. Frances Academy

James “Tank” Carrington is a spectacular athlete for his size. He was just named an All-American for wrestling in the 285 pound weight-class, and he was also recently chosen for the 1st Team All-American Defensive Team- Class of 2026. Carrington already has D1 power five conference offers from the elite, including: Alabama, Notre Dame, FSU, Wisconsin, UNC, Texas A&M, UMD, and many more. It will be very exciting to watch James “Tank” Carrington compete in 2023, and I have a feeling that it will be far and away his most dominant season yet. I wouldn't be even slightly surprised if the Panthers compete for the National Championship yet again this Fall, and, if they do, James “Tank” Carrington will have a lot to do with that effort. Regardless of class, there are very few prospects in the nation with as high of a ceiling as James “Tank” Carrington.

2026 5'11 170 WR - [player_tooltip player_id='401994' first='Chris' last='Hewitt'] - Calvert Hall

[player_tooltip player_id='401994' first='Chris' last='Hewitt'] posted very solid receiving numbers during his Freshman season. He caught 30 passes for 374 yards and 3 touchdowns, which means he averaged a few yards over 10 yards per reception on the year. All in all, these are stellar numbers for Hewitt's first year, and that's why I believe that he will double those numbers in 2023. [player_tooltip player_id='401994' first='Chris' last='Hewitt'] will be a focal point on Calvert Hall's offense this Fall, and I believe he's going to be one of their primary scoring options moving forward. The 4 star recruit already has offers from Tennessee, UMD, MSU, Cincinnati, UMiami, and many more. [player_tooltip player_id='401994' first='Chris' last='Hewitt'] is in a premier position to have the best season of his career this year, and I believe that the Calvert Hall Cardinals will be much more competitive in the MIAA as a result.
