Last weekend, the Prospect Tour came to Michigan, and it was our most successful showcase yet! There were many standout performances, and a record amount of offers coming as a result. So, let's take a look at five athletes that heavily impressed me!

QB | [player_tooltip player_id='216986' first='Tyler' last='Herzog'] | 2024 | Avondale | Hudl

Tyler has been one of the highest-risers over the past 6 or so months. This past fall, I think Tyler proved to be the best Quarterback in the Corey Bell era of Avondale, and likely the best QB they've had in the past decade. Needless to say, I really liked what I saw of Tyler last season. He slung the ball around with a ton of confidence, and led a very high-powered offense that unfortunately didn't get much credit because of a lagging defense. Anyways, Tyler played great in-season, and he's consistently performing well during the offseason. He consistently threw the ball well, and with confidence. During initial workouts, he looked very smooth and athletic. With a brand new Head Coach, I look forward to seeing how Tyler leads a new offense!

OLB | [player_tooltip player_id='80935' first='Tyler' last='Dosh'] | 2024 | Davison | Hudl

Tyler has been near the top of the 2024 rankings for some time, and he and [player_tooltip player_id='80934' first='Carter' last='Herriman'] may be my favorite defensive duo in the state. When I first saw Tyler, it was apparent he was in the middle of a bulk, and overall it's always a good sign when an athlete works out and diets with intent. During the initial workouts, Tyler looked very explosive and athletic. In fact, he had the longest broad jump in his group. During competition, Tyler looked solid. After the showcase, he earned an offer from Lawrence Tech! Still, I think Tyler is a DII prospect with D1 potential.

QB | [player_tooltip player_id='589851' first='Cason' last='Carswell'] | 2025 | Mason | Hudl

I've seen Cason a few times this offseason, and this was the best I've ever seen him throw the ball. He was poised, loose, talkative, and he impressed every college coach in attendance. At this point, Mason has gone to two-straight semifinals, and they have an incredibly high-powered offense with a proven defense. Not much else to say except I feel that Mason could develop into a solid DIII (or maybe DII) prospect!

LB | Gabriel Amid | 2024 | Zeeland East | Hudl

Gabe was a delight to watch at the showcase! Initially, he moved better than I expected him to. He ran well, had good change of direction, and overall moved much more athletically than I had expected. As the showcase picked up and as competition began, Gabe got hype and in the zone. He was making plays, running around, talking to everyone, and having fun. He knows what he's good at, where he needs to improve, and I cant tell he's just having fun with the process. Gabe plays against incredible competition in the OK-Green, and I look forward to seeing what he's able to do next season!

WR | [player_tooltip player_id='1529567' first='Cameron' last='Dawood'] | 2026 | Rochester Adams | Hudl

Cameron was one of the biggest surprises in the whole showcase! Smaller than most, Cameron played like he was 6'6. I love his acceleration, grit, and hands. Seriously, there were multiple plays where he made some insane catches against tighter coverage. I'm super curious to see how Cameron will fit in with Adams's Veer scheme at the varsity level, and wether it's this year or next year, he's set up to be a great varsity player.
