By the time graduation rolls around my goal is to always have well over 500 recruits ranked for college coaches to have at their disposal. I have a strong list for the next update this summer. In today’s article we are going to look at five of the members that I believe have the talent to shake up the current positional rankings. We start with an impressive QB that has recently hit my radar.
I’m very excited to get Tyler into the rankings. He sure looks the part of a next level QB with his 6’3″ 215 lbs frame. The big fella can move too with a reported 4.85 40 yard dash time. That dual threat ability has become more and more coveted at the next level. The arm talent is what you come to this film for. Tyler has next level arm talent. He can drive the ball 40+ yards downfield into tight windows. He can deliver the ball with accuracy while on the run. His accuracy to every level of the field jumps off the tape. The ball placement gives his man the best opportunity while not putting the ball at risk. He is going to be in the top 5 race at the QB position.
I have been sleeping on the LB from Hortonville. He and teammate Miles Sillas Miles Sillas 6’4″ | 240 lbs | LB Hortonville | 2024 State WI are going to make up arguably the best ILB tandem in WI. The 6′ 210 lbs junior is a tackling machine. He piled up 120+ tackles in only 8 games. Watching the tape, the instincts instantly jump out. Ben puts himself in the right spot to make plays as the play is developing and finishes with hard hitting tackles. He is also an effective blitzer up the middle. His power is his best attribute as he runs through block attempts on the way to tackles. Smith is also one of the best shot put throwers in the nation. He is a name to know in a very talented and deep LB group.
Zach was a key piece to Kettle Moraine’s D2 State Championship run. The CB has good length out wide that gives him a cushion for recovery. His awareness in coverage led to multiple of his interceptions. I was impressed watching Donaldson’s footwork on tape as well. He has a smooth, quick, backpedal that allows him to transition and change directions quickly as receivers make their breaks. He has the ball skills to create turnovers, and the timing he has with his hands at the catch point led to several pass breakups. CB is always a high priority, so make sure Zach is on your radar.
The Class of 2024 OL group is off the charts good. It won’t be easy breaking into it, but the 6’4″ 270 lbs OT out of McFarland has a legitimate shot at the Top 15 of the OL. Kaden’s technique and footwork jump off the tape. He maintains a wide base, you never see his heels clicking, and that has led to his power always being at it’s peak. The big man also moves smoothly on that wide base. His lateral agility allows him to mirror edge rushers, and his long arms gets him the initial contact. Don’t overlook the standout junior OL.
IVan Haemer
IVan Haemer
Ivan is going to be a player who breaks out as a senior. Colby HS has put out next level talent over and over the past few years. It is now time for the 6′ 185 lbs junior to shine. Watching through his highlights, I came away very impressed with his work as a ball carrier. Ivan has next level contact balance. The angles he has found his body in and still kept himself from going down is not something you find every day. Haemer absorbs the big shots and also runs behind his own pads well. His yards after contact is going to be crazy his senior year. Ivan also has the long speed to turn green grass into big chunk plays. Ivan is a dark horse candidate to lead the state in rushing this fall. Check him out.
