2025 Watchlist QBs to Know

<p><em>Breaking down the sophomore QBs on Prep Redzone's 2025 Watchlist. [player_tooltip player_id='484293' first='Xzavior' last='Guess'] (El Modena) flashed natural speed and athleticism as a dual-threat last season. </em></p>    <p>Guess is an athletic lefty QB that excels at making plays outside the tackles. He had a strong showing at the PRZ CA Showcase in January, testing as the top QB in the 40 (4.53) and broad jump (9'5”). He's a nimble, quick-twitch runner with natural speed and elusiveness in space. He flashes arm strength throwing on the run and likes to push the ball downfield for explosive plays. Guess totaled over 1,200 yards and 17 TDs/6 INTs as a passer and was the team's second leading rusher with over 800 yards and 14 TDs on 111 carries.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/ocvarsityguy/status/1583281565999587328?s=20 </div></figure>    <p>Baca finished with over 900 passing yards and 10 TDs/3 INTs after sitting the first 5 games of the 2022 season (transfer rules). He's an athletic, mobile passer that can make throws on the run outside the pocket and pick up chunks of yards with his legs when necessary. He can add touch and layer the ball into spots downfield and has continued to show development as a passer this offseason. He's a talented passer that can push the ball downfield and looks poised and comfortable in the pocket. He's a quick accelerator with the ball in his hands that can escape pressure and make plays as an improviser. He was in attendance for the PRZ CA Showcase in January where he flashed arm strength and accuracy in the short-intermediate areas. He's a tough, nimble runner that can operate with the ball in tight spaces and finishes aggressively through contact. He can put air under the deep ball, keeps his eyes downfield when scrambling, and is a quick decision-maker in play-action/read-option.
