10. Jaylon Coleman Jaylon Coleman 5'9" | 160 lbs | ATH Vandebilt Catholic | 2025 State LA | 5-9, 160 ATH | Vandebilt Catholic
The Terriers’ multi-sport standout is the smallest of Louisiana’s highly regarded group of 2025 running backs, but is also near the top of the list — if not atop it — in terms of explosiveness, quickness, top-end speed, potential as a receiver and likely high-level value as a returner with his 4.45-second 40-yard and 10.4-second 100-meter speed. Coleman’s list of offers is rightfully strong and includes Oregon, Texas A&M, Florida State and Mississippi State among the Power Five suitors. The versatile athlete, who could also prove to be a slot receiver at the next level, sees his designation in this Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings update switch from “running back” to “athlete.” And he is garnering valuable reps running routes and catching passes this offseason. He racked up 1,582 yards and 22 touchdowns on 181 carries (8.7 yards per attempt) as a sophomore with 11 catches for another 182 yards and two scores.
9. Russell Babineaux Russell Babineaux 5'9" | 160 lbs | ATH Acadiana | 2025 State LA | 5-9, 160 WR | Acadiana
The speedy wunderkind of Acadiana, who earned all-district honors as a freshman for the typically veteran and run-heavy Wrecking’ Rams, put together a strong sophomore campaign with 25 catches for 419 yards and three touchdowns and a 43-yard kick return average with another two scores. Babineaux has good build and strength for his size, lethal quickness as a route-runner and ball-carrier and solid track time, including a 7.18-second 60-meter dash for his school’s indoor track team. His list of offers already includes LSU, Ole Miss, Florida State, Miami, Mississippi State, Tulane and UTSA.
8. James Simon James Simon 6'0" | 200 lbs | RB Calvary Baptist | 2025 State LA | 6-0, 200 RB | Calvary Baptist
The first of three top-10 debuts in the latest Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings update is a major piece of the state’s impressive running back class. Simon still feels somewhat under-the-radar for his high talent level, but that status is changing swiftly with a string of offers mounting up that now includes TCU, Arizona, Oregon, Colorado, Oklahoma State, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Notre Dame. The younger son of former Southern Lab and Louisiana Tech standout and longtime college coach John Ray Simon is one of the bigger backs in the class with an explosive cut upfield and some good elusiveness and a smooth receiving game. He finished his sophomore season with 1,005 yards and 22 touchdowns on 138 carries (7.3 yards per attempt).
7. Lennis Finister Jr. Lennis Finister Jr. 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Archbishop Rummel | 2025 State LA Jr. | 6-0, 170 DB | Archbishop Rummel
The New Orleans standout was one of the first names on Prep Redzone Louisiana’s early watch lists and has continued during the past two years to look more and more the part as one of the next top defensive backs out of the city. Finister has grown another couple of inches to now be pushing 6-feet with good length. The speedy, fluid sophomore athlete blankets opposing receivers stride for stride and plays with great patience and instinct to make well-timed plays on passes his direction — including some highlight-reel leaping deflections and interceptions. UTSA and Arkansas State have been his first two offers, each of which came from New Orleans area natives with a track record for early identification of talent who have since moved on to Power Five staffs.
6. TaRon Francis TaRon Francis 6'1" | 190 lbs | WR Edna Karr | 2025 State LA | 6-1, 190 WR | Edna Karr
The Cougars’ young receiver’s sophomore highlights only include a few plays — six, to be exact — but provide an impressive, albeit quick glimpse into the athleticism that has had programs such as LSU, Mississippi State, Florida State, Troy, Ole Miss and Michigan already lining up on his early list of offers and eager to bring his long-term potential to their campuses. “ManChild” has really good size, breakaway speed and a springy enough leap that two of the aforementioned six plays feature him smoothly hurdling opponents and re-accelerating for additional yards.
5. Tre Fuller Tre Fuller 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Captain Shreve | 2025 State LA | 6-2, 180 DB | Captain Shreve
Fuller was another early Prep Redzone Louisiana favorite on early watch lists for the state’s 2025 class with his potential on both sides of the ball. On the heels of his sophomore season, he is looking like one of the cohort’s most intriguing prospects as a safety at the next level and potentially beyond. The Gators’ standout can cover a ton of field in a hurry with his fluid athleticism, long frame and good closing speed. Mississippi State, Tulsa, Grambling State and ULM have been among his early offers with LSU, Texas, Louisiana (Lafayette) and Tulane among other programs notably involved entering this spring and summer.
4. D’Shaun Ford D’Shaun Ford 5'11" | 210 lbs | RB Opelousas | 2025 State LA | 5-11, 210 RB | Opelousas
The big, more-traditional running back of the group racked up 1,370 yards and 21 touchdowns as a sophomore to earn District 5-4A Offensive MVP honors and a string of college offers that includes LSU, Penn State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida State, Miami, UTSA, Nicholls State and Charlotte. Ford is a powerful runner with good vision, patience and balance to work his way to the next level and a long list of breakaway touchdowns against respectable competition that speak to top gear in the open field.
3. Jaboree Antoine Jaboree Antoine 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Westgate | 2025 State LA | 6-2, 180 DB | Westgate
The latest budding Westgate star is highest-debuting prospect in the latest Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings update, nipping on the heels of the duo that has claimed the top two spots throughout the cohort’s rankings. Miami, LSU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Michigan and Tennessee have all extended scholarship offers since the start of 2023, and it’s not difficult to see why. Antoine quickly checks the boxes with his size, length, speed and ball skills — whether blanketing receivers out wide at corner and making well-timed deflections on passes their direction or covering major ground on the back end of his Tigers’ defense with little wasted motion and closing quickly for deflections and interceptions, including leaping and acrobatic highlight-reel robberies. He finished with five picks, 11 break-ups and 32 tackles as a sophomore, while also leading Westgate’s offense with 1,650 yards and 12 touchdowns through the air and another 303 yards rushing.
2. Keylan Moses Keylan Moses 6'2" | 215 lbs | ATH University Lab | 2025 State LA | 6-2, 215 ATH | University Lab
The next Moses up has done a great job thus far following older brother Dylan’s footsteps as a highly anticipated prospect before even beginning his high school career, arguably exceeding lofty expectations thus far and also carving his own path in some ways by letting his personality shine in platforms such as social media, 7-on-7 and the NIL market. Keylan put together an all-state sophomore season as an absolute menace around and behind the line of scrimmage as a versatile athlete around the box capable of playing end, linebacker or safety. He finished with 43 tackles, including nine for loss and five sacks, and four pass break-ups and also rushed 94 times on offense for 614 yards and 10 touchdowns. And he has looked impressive this spring on the 7-on-7 circuit, working on and showcasing more of his skillset in coverage where he consistently covers large areas of the field whether dropping back or running with smaller, quick backs and slot receivers.
1. Harlem Berry Harlem Berry 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB St. Martin's | 2025 State LA | 5-11, 165 RB | St. Martin’s
St. Martin’s multi-sport star overtakes No. 1 in the latest Prep Redzone Louisiana update in a tight race for the top spot. Berry has solidified himself as the top dog in a loaded Louisiana running back class, the most complete prospect in the group with his combination of size, power, balance, vision, quickness, breakaway speed, all-around receiving ability and the list goes on. Even on the heels of some good recent running back groups, Berry looks like the most can’t-miss prospect in a few cycles at the position. Berry tacked yet another prolific season of 2,277 yards and 37 touchdowns on 194 carries (11.7 yards per attempt) onto his staggering early résumé. And his realistic potential as not only a running back, but a slot receiver or safety if he and college staff so chose and his notable special-teams value as a potential return man shouldn’t be ignored. His eight catches for 103 yards and another score, plus long kickoff- and punt-return touchdowns provided some glimpse to those areas of his game.
