Korti was one of the most explosive runners in the state as a junior. He has excellent speed and is built like a fire hydrant – there is nothing to tackle but knees and shoulder pads. Despite his small stature, he is tough to bring down because of his low center of gravity. Those are great traits for a running back but are not what gives Korti a chance to be the most exciting player in the state next season. He has some of the quickest feet I have seen on film in a while. Good luck getting him down in the open field.
Highlights
Garcia is a physical interior offensive lineman who doubles as a run-stuffing defensive end who is quicker off the line of scrimmage than he looks. Offensively, if he gets his hands on a defender, he can be a road grader – moving his man three or four yards off the line of scrimmage. While the junior is most effective straight ahead, Garcia can pull and uses good upper-body strength in pass protection. As a 3-4 defensive end, he holds the line of scrimmage but also gets off the ball quickly and gets good penetration.
Highlights
Blasy has good quickness from the linebacker spot – giving him good range. When he comes on a blitz, his quickness off the line gets him on linemen before they can get set. He can play inside the tackles and on the
rnedge. On the offensive side of the ball, he can do a bit of everything – he has solid speed and can catch out of the backfield. He is a great lead blocker on the inside and when setting the edge. If a defender doesn’t get him squared up, he has the power to break a tackle.
Highlights
Ruid is one of the best sophomores I have seen watching video this season. His footwork is really nice for someone so young. His kick step and pass set look like he is an experienced veteran. He is quick off the line of scrimmage, and his straight-line speed is very impressive. He gets to the second level as quickly as I have seen with an athlete his size. I would like to see him lower his pad level, but he is physically strong enough to compensate for a sometimes high pad level. He is strong enough to make inferior defenders look bad, even with a high pad level. When pass blocking – however – he keeps his hips nice and low.
Highlights
Dietel uses his hands and his length well when rushing the passer. He keeps separation – allowing him to keep blockers off-balance and get off blocks. The junior is athletic enough to play inside and outside and with his hand in the grass or as a stand-up defensive end. When inside, he was too quick off the ball for the interior linemen he faced. He has already developed a nice swim move. As an offensive lineman, he comes off the ball with good knee bend and a low pad level.
