Whether they be one of the best QBs in the state I took too long to get to, or a small school offensive lineman who can play at the highest level, they are simply remarkable and worth a good deep look!
Tyler Cherry Tyler Cherry 6'5" | 210 lbs | QB Center Grove | 2024 State IN – Center Grove – QB – 6’5″ 210lbs
Cherry could very well be the Cherry on top for the class who lands him when all of the dust settles. A fantastic frame, big arm, and very sound footwork for his age. He not only plays at the highest level in Indiana, but leads the way. Back-to-back-to-back State Champions and Cherry has a lot to do with that. His poise in the pocket, especially under pressure, is just phenomenal. His ability to side step pressure, keep his eyes downfield, and shoulders square while delivering a perfect strike is a thing of beauty. His ball release is natural, smooth, and just has that look of a superstar on Saturday lighting it up. I also love the fact that he will stand in there and take a big hit when he sees it coming to get the ball off. All of this said, you can’t leave out the fact that he’s a really good athlete with the ability to take off and pick up the first down. He’s not going to take off often, but he will. He’s able to read coverages, identity blitzers, and is better as the lights get better. I know I say this every now and then, but I try to cover everyone I can in the state. I’m human and takes time to get to guys sometimes, however, I’m embarrassed that the 2024 Rankings were ever published without this young man. Cherry is a Division 1 level starting QB with more potential than my Madden Create-A-Player. 6.’5″, big arm, poised, good footwork, incredibly intelligent, can read coverages and make good decisions, is great under pressure, loves the bright lights, and is a leader on and off the field. If they grew Quarterbacks in a lab, you’d be looking at Cherry for reference.

Myles Terry Myles Terry 6'4" | 190 lbs | WR Evansville Harrison | 2024 State IN – Evansville Harrison – WR/DB – 6’4″ 190lbs
Terry has the height and speed you look for in a play-maker on the outside. His height gives him a big advantage in a lot of 50/50 balls and he’s able to go up and come down with them. He was used as a deep-threat last year and while he didn’t have a ton of opportunity, he looked really good with what he was given. He’s long, able to run, and can get by the last line of defense. He’s also returned kicks and played DB. Having a guy with his length have the speed to get the corner and agility to make a guy miss here and there is a beautiful combo to have. Terry is someone who could come out next year with a much bigger role on his offense just based on his progression and where he was at last year. Every time he’s gotten a bigger slice he’s been able to handle it so I don’t see any reason that doesn’t continue next year. Terry has a lot of traits and physical attributes that can make a player special at the next level.

Dane Sebert Dane Sebert 6'0" | 285 lbs | OL Eastside | 2024 State IN – Eastside – OL – 6’2″ 275lbs
Sebert is the perfect example of why I enjoy doing this for Prep Redzone. A small school stud who may never get a single glance unless someone is willing to look for small school dudes. Not only did I go to a small school, but played in the same conference (NECC) as Sebert, so I know how schools may not even click his tape unless someone says to. However, if Sebert went to a bigger school, he’d still be starting, making the same violent plays, and being an impactful player upfront. He’s long and someone you can tell hits the weight room regularly. He’s got decent lower body strength and his upper body is getting there, but when it does he may be a monster. He’s naturally strong, has violent hands, and likes to level his guy. He’s good being a puller to lead the way and isn’t stiff. He bends well, gets off the ball well, and seems to fit your prototypical Guard build at the collegiate level. When he graduates, he’s going to have as many reps and experience as any lineman. I know the small school may be an excuse for some, but not with Sebert. He’s someone who can easily develop into a starter at the next level and reward whoever is willing to head out to Eastside and bring him home.

Joshua Thoman Joshua Thoman 6'5" | 300 lbs | OL Brownsburg | 2024 State IN – Brownsburg – OL – 6’5″ 300lbs
Thoman is an incredibly big bodied recruit who does a fantastic job on the outside. He’s got a ton of experience playing RT and being asked to do multiple things from the 1 spot. Whether it be pass block, be a lead blocker in the screen game, or handle a double team in the running game, he’s been able to handle it all. Thoman really thrives in the run game where he’s able to use his size and get a leverage advantage and just pummel his opponent into the ground. He seems to thrive a bit more going to his right than his left and cutting off blocks, but he’s still fairly good in the run game to his left. It’s likely because since he’s on the right side and protecting that edge, he’s used to much more work on his right. While he’s still developing on interior pressures, he’s got quick feet for 300lbs and gets off the ball fairly well. His feet are always moving and driving his opponent backwards. His size, raw strength, ability to protect the outside, all added with his weight room success should be enough for schools to start calling.

William Harris William Harris 5'11" | 215 lbs | LB Park Tudor | 2024 State IN – Park Tudor – LB/RB – 5’11 215lbs
Harris is all over the field ruining days for offenses week after week. He’s an elite athlete who can explode off the ball. He’s able to time the snap and get in the backfield just as quick as they can hand it off sometimes. On the season, he put up over 150 tackles, 6 TFLs, forced a few turnovers, and blocked a pair of kicks on Special Teams. On top of all that, he rotates in at RB and gets some carries there. Quite literally wherever they’ve needed someone, Harris has been able to plug that gap. With his ability to turn and run with ease, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him develop into a sideline to sideline coverage LB. Yes, he’s explosive and can hit, but that’s not all he can do. He feels like a guy who could do multiple different things depending on what you ask him to do. There may be a development stage with him, but if there is I don’t think it’ll take long for him to get up to speed. He’s smart, a great athlete, and can flip that switch. Harris is a really good player right in the heart of Indiana that could help reinforce any second level defense when the time comes.
