Well, today’s article, proves that and features prospects from all over the state that had quality sophomore seasons. Each recruit was a varsity contributor and has quite interesting skill sets that will only continue to develop over the next two seasons. I will most certainly be keeping an eye on their progress this year & beyond!

ATH: Tyrone Cotton, 6’1″ 155, Glenbrook South
Cotton was a major playmaker on both sides of the football in 2022. On defense, he was silky smooth working out of a pedal, showed elite acceleration out of his breaks, consistent anticipation, and has outstanding ball skills. On offense, he showed loose hips, pristine vision and terrific patience on gap scheme runs.
WR: Cameron Bates, 6′ 160, Grayslake North
On film, Bates proved that he can climb the ladder and go get the football at its highest point. He shows excellent concentration in traffic, the ability to win his 1 on 1 matchups, and has another gear after the catch. His feet are well-trained against press, he can fool defenders with false head fakes and has consistent hands on all three levels of the field.
QB: Kendrick Lyons, 6′ 165, Granite City
Lyons only played in six games but threw for 1,319 yards and 12 touchdowns. On film, he’s in sync with his wideouts and has ideal timing for the position. He’s got a twitchy lower half, can get the ball out of his hand quickly, and can drive the ball for fieldside throws. He’s a natural against free rushers and can adlib on his own to keep a play alive.
LB: Nathan Cleveland, 6’2″ 200, Hoffman Estates
Cleveland has the size, instincts, speed, and physicality you want in an outside linebacker. He’s always in the right spot at the right time, baits quarterbacks into poor throws, and is a turnover machine. He reads his run keys & triggers, speeds his feet on tackle attempts, and has the burst & balance to wreak havoc behind the line of scrimmage.
QB: AJ Bravieri AJ Bravieri 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Johnsburg | 2025 State IL , 6’3″ 190, Johnsburg
Aj has the size, arm talent, and anticipation of a highly skilled quarterback prospect. He’s cool under pressure, can step up & pick up yards with his legs if nothing is there downfield, and can throw off awkward platforms. He’s got some gunslinger to him, is slippery through contact, and loves to throw outside the pocket.
