2025 6'0 170 DB - [player_tooltip player_id='273398' first='Tariq' last='Hayer'] - St. John's

The 2nd Team All-WCAC defensive back, [player_tooltip player_id='273398' first='Tariq' last='Hayer'], is most definitely one of the top players in the 2025 class. He's a turnover machine out of the defensive secondary for St. John's, and he had multiple pick sixes in 2022. He possesses incredible athleticism and agility for his age, and he will only develop and grow from here. The next level potential for [player_tooltip player_id='273398' first='Tariq' last='Hayer'] is truly off the charts, and that's why he already has D1 power five conference offers from programs such as Tennessee, Penn State, and Ole Miss. The sky is the limit for [player_tooltip player_id='273398' first='Tariq' last='Hayer'], and 2023 is bound to be another stellar year for him.

2025 5'11 177 ATH - [player_tooltip player_id='218618' first='Blake' last='Woodby'] - St. Frances Academy

Blake “Bobble” Woodby already has elite D1 offers from schools like Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Miami. He possesses unlimited potential, and I truly believe that he's one of the most exciting players on the entire St. Frances Academy roster. He scored one of the top highlight real touchdowns of the year for the Panthers on offense last year, and he's also a lockdown defensive back. [player_tooltip player_id='218618' first='Blake' last='Woodby'] does it all, and he's an incredibly well-rounded player who will thrive at the next level.

2025 6'0 175 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='250315' first='Denzel' last='Gardner'] - DeMatha

[player_tooltip player_id='250315' first='Denzel' last='Gardner'] is the best quarterback in the WCAC coming into the 2023 season. He led the conference in most statistical categories for quarterbacks last season and the reason for that is his spectacular dual-threat ability. DeMatha is definitely my way too early pick to win the WCAC title in 2023, and [player_tooltip player_id='250315' first='Denzel' last='Gardner'] has a lot to do with my choice. The Stags are extremely balanced on both sides of the ball, but Gardner's ability to manage the offense out of the read-option will simply be too much for opposing defenses to handle. I almost guarantee you that DeMatha will be competing for a WCAC Championship yet again this year if [player_tooltip player_id='250315' first='Denzel' last='Gardner'] is on the field.

2025 5'11 180 DB - [player_tooltip player_id='218625' first='Kevyn' last='Humes'] - St. Frances Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='218625' first='Kevyn' last='Humes'] is an extremely elite cornerback prospect, and he's one of the few defensemen who scored a touchdown in their first season this year. He recorded multiple tackles per game, and he thrived in nickel formations. Humes already has power five conference offers from Miami, Tennessee, LSU, and Indiana. The SFA Panthers are in great position to put themselves in the National Championship game yet again in 2023, and [player_tooltip player_id='218625' first='Kevyn' last='Humes'] will be an integral part of the Panther's defense this Fall.

2025 6'1 180 DB - [player_tooltip player_id='251401' first='Jayden' last='Shipps'] - Archbishop Spalding

Since achieving MIAA gold in the Fall, [player_tooltip player_id='251401' first='Jayden' last='Shipps'] has received D1 offers from WVU, UNCC, Marshall, and Temple. Shipps is a large and physical corner with a ton of athleticism and phenomenal tackling ability. His championship level effort on every play last year was only the tip of the iceberg, and I guarantee that he plays even more dominantly in 2023. [player_tooltip player_id='251401' first='Jayden' last='Shipps'] is the real deal, and Spalding should absolutely be the heavy favorite to the win the MIAA title again in the Fall.
