First Team - Mason Boothby - Underwood - Junior

With one of the best defenses in Class 1A Underwood reached the state semifinals before suffering its first loss to West Sioux. Mason Boothby was a big reason for that success, as he recorded seven interceptions despite only picking up 11 tackles. Needless to say, that shows just how few pass attempts were headed towards Boothby.

On offense, Boothby led the team with 40 receptions for 936 yards and 11 touchdowns while also standing out on special teams.

Second Team - Cayden Schultz - Eagle Grove - Senior

Mr. Versatility was Cayden Schultz, as the Eagle Grove senior recorded 20.5 tackles with nearly all of them being solo stops in the secondary. He also picked off six passes, flashing the strong hands that made him a standout on the offensive side of the ball.

There, Schultz had 600 yards rushing, 12 receptions for 142 yards and six total touchdowns.

Third Team - [player_tooltip player_id='320697' first='Carter' last='Durflinger'] - Van Meter - Senior

A year after graduating an exceptional senior class, the ball just continued to roll forward for Van Meter. [player_tooltip player_id='320697' first='Carter' last='Durflinger'] helped make that possible, as the senior recorded 41.5 tackles with three interceptions and 6.5 stops for loss. On offense, he had 10 total touchdowns while also taking a pick back for six.

On special teams, Durflinger was sensational, averaging 19 yards per punt return with three scores on his 20 tries. And for good measure, he threw a touchdown pass.

Honorable Mention

Among those also under consideration were Peyton Ritzer of Pella Christian, Jake Moore from Sigourney-Keota and [player_tooltip player_id='152929' first='Ben' last='Egan'] of Mediapolis.
