Home to teams such as Mt Zion, Mattoon and Effingham, this is always a tough league with more than one team moving past the first round of the playoffs. There are a few players in the league who I have discussed already in separate articles (Pat Brock-Mt Zion) so I am not going to focus on them today, but the other players in this conference.
A literal threat to score anywhere on the field, this top WR for the Braves scored 15 touchdowns on receptions in 2022 and had almost 1000 yards receiving. He has a soft hands, runs crisp routes and is athletic enough to make any catch anywhere on the field. Not a burner in regards to speed, he has enough quickness to get open against any defense. Look for a big summer camp circuit from Grant and for him to have another big season in 2023. His Twitter handle is @grantmcatee1210

Luke is what I like to call a “vertical threat” at running back, meaning he is always moving forward and not laterally. He does a phenomenal job of running behind his pads and knowing when to accelerate and when to be patient. Built to handle the between the tackle runs at almost 200 pounds he also possesses the 4.5 40 speed to get the edge and run to the end zone. Look for Luke to definitely eclipse 1000 yards rushing again as a senior and for his college interest level to rise the closer we get towards the season. His Twitter handle is @johnsonld_072

Kion Carson
Kion Carson
Speed, speed, speed is the best way to describe this 5’6 jitterbug for the Railsplitters. When he gets his hands on the ball you had better hold your breath because something special is about to happen. He plays slot back in Lincolns triple option offense and look for him to get the bulk of the carries as he heads into his senior season. He also handles kickoff return and punt return duties and doubles as a pretty good defensive back as well. Oh, and being from Lincoln he spends his winters on the hard court for the basketball team. Langdon King
Langdon King
This 6’2 wide receiver/defensive back seems to always be making plays for the Trojans. He was not only their leading receiver but he also chipped in some rushing yards and led the team with 4 interceptions. He does a great job catching the ball in traffic and makes some unbelievable breaks on the ball in the secondary. Look for another big season from Langdon heading into 2023.
A demon on defense for the Bulldogs, at only 6’1 some would say Jack is undersized but I think it just adds to the chip on his shoulder. He plays 100 miles an hour on the field and it shows on his film. He’s disruptive in the run game, relentless chasing quarterbacks and he always seems to be making the play when the play needs to be made. Look for a huge senior season from Jack in 2023 and I can definitely see him being a major asset to an FCS program in the future. His Twitter handle is @JackGallier4

Cameron Schroth

Don’t trust your eyeballs when you take a look at Cameron. While he may be unassuming at 5’9 175 pounds, he is a terror on defense for the Braves, racking up over 140 tackles in 2022. He makes up for his lack of size by playing sideline to sideline and still having enough power to fill gaps and take running backs down single handed. In my own personal opinion, his film screams D3 multi year starter and his film will definitely back that up. Look for another big year from Cameron leading the defense in 2023.
