The NSIC is one of the premier D2 conferences in the country. It consists of 14 teams across the midwest, although most schools are in Minnesota and the Dakotas. The NSIC has sent quite a few players to the NFL over the years, including the Viking's own Adam Theilen and CJ Ham. They loaded up with talent this offseason and I'm pumped to bring to you an overview of the NSIC's Minnesota recruiting class!!

Bemidji State: #1 in 2022

Major Exits: Brendan Beaulieu (WR), Dhel Duncan-Busby (WR), Zollie Kaplan (DL), Andrew Manuele (WR), Colbey Wadsworth (DE), Ryan Schnobrich (DL)

Top MN Recruits: Liam Cummings (DE), [player_tooltip player_id='112184' first='Foster' last='Mulvehill'] (DB), Tyrell Thomas (DB), Eli Pfieffer (FB/LS), [player_tooltip player_id='228471' first='Dominic' last='Jackson'] (WR), [player_tooltip player_id='245655' first='Deon' last='Kelson'] (OL), [player_tooltip player_id='312935' first='Ethan' last='Biehn'] (WR), Ridge Flatness (LB), [player_tooltip player_id='295817' first='Jadon' last='Hellerud'] (ATH), [player_tooltip player_id='313183' first='Kaden' last='Cook'] (DL), [player_tooltip player_id='313294' first='Henry' last='Eaton'] (OL).

Season Overview: Following a dominant 2022 campaign, the Beavers look to reload for another season. They lose a few key players, but they did a great job of hitting key in-state targets to fill those gaps that they lost. The Beavers picked up some solid wideouts in [player_tooltip player_id='312935' first='Ethan' last='Biehn'] who amassed over 1,100 all-purpose yards last season, and former Shakopee Sabers QB turned WR [player_tooltip player_id='228471' first='Dominic' last='Jackson'] whose fantastic athleticism should help him make a smooth transition. Multiple sport standout [player_tooltip player_id='295817' first='Jadon' last='Hellerud'] should also make a nice addition to whatever skill position they stick him at. Defensively they added two solid edge players Liam Cummings from Edina and [player_tooltip player_id='313183' first='Kaden' last='Cook'] from Park Center. The latter of which amassed 8 sacks during his senior campaign. They also added two solid DBs in [player_tooltip player_id='112184' first='Foster' last='Mulvehill'] from Irondale and Tyrell Thomas from Park Center. Link to full recruiting list.

Minnesota State: #2 In 2022

Major Exits: Nyles Williams (WR), Jalen Sample (WR), Payton Conrad (DB), Alijah McGhee (LB), Blake Van Veldhuizen (DL), Somon Anderson (DB), Nic Vinson (DB), Jack Roussel (OL)

Top MN Recruits: [player_tooltip player_id='112047' first='Sam' last='Backer'] (RB), [player_tooltip player_id='112127' first='Jacory' last='Bates'] (DB), [player_tooltip player_id='383729' first='Ian' last='Burau'] (OL), Connor Fournier (K), [player_tooltip player_id='246043' first='Jonah' last='Hviding'] (WR), Charlie King (LB), Ashton Llyod (TE), [player_tooltip player_id='19030' first='Hunter' last='Nething'] (OL), Andrew Partyka (DL), [player_tooltip player_id='295822' first='Jermell' last='Taylor'] (TE), [player_tooltip player_id='312960' first='Carter' last='Walker'] (DL)

Season Overview: The Mavericks went 10-3 and finished second in the NSIC. They don't lose many major players and keep a solid core of athletes following a solid year of recruiting. Offensively they add Chatfield's, [player_tooltip player_id='112047' first='Sam' last='Backer'] a former 4 sport athlete who rushed for over 7,000 yards in his career. They also nabbed [player_tooltip player_id='246043' first='Jonah' last='Hviding'] from Princeton, who recorded over 750 receiving yards and 14 TDs during his senior campaign. Grabbing big-body TEs like Blue Earth's Ashton Llyod and Eden Prairie's [player_tooltip player_id='295822' first='Jermell' last='Taylor'] also helps fill some receiving needs. Defensively they grabbed another Eden Prairie standout in [player_tooltip player_id='112127' first='Jacory' last='Bates'] as well as Bethlehem Academy's Charlie King, whose physical style of football should make a welcome addition to the Mavericks roster. Important not to sleep on Watertown Mayer's [player_tooltip player_id='383729' first='Ian' last='Burau'], a big physical OL, and Maple Grove's Conner Fournier who finished high school with over 140 career points. Link to full recruiting list.

Wayne State: #3 in 2022

Major Exits: Anthony Watkins (RB), Mason Lee (WR), Jaylan Scott (LB), J'Von France (DB)

Major MN Recruits: None sadly

Season Overview: Wayne State brought in 38 total athletes during this recruiting year, 34 recruits and 4 transfers. Offensively they loaded up, bringing aboard a ton of talent. Including [player_tooltip player_id='112164' first='AJ' last='Boarman'] from Holy Angels, who was the leading passer and rusher last season, big body [player_tooltip player_id='112107' first='Trace' last='Bowman'] who should provide a great target for Boarman, Chuck Gilbert a two-star WR from Holy Angels, [player_tooltip player_id='313089' first='Ryder' last='Patterson'] an all-state WR from Lakeville North, and [player_tooltip player_id='313317' first='Alex' last='Riley'] a true swiss army knife athlete who was a three-year starter for Waconia. They also brought in four solid OL in [player_tooltip player_id='112156' first='Carter' last='Geerts'], [player_tooltip player_id='313296' first='Zach' last='Johnson'], Haden Kelly, and Leo Smalley. Defensively they brought in another two-star in [player_tooltip player_id='19009' first='John' last='Barrow'], three great secondary members in [player_tooltip player_id='112055' first='Joey' last='Krouse'], Jonathon Shrum, and [player_tooltip player_id='112135' first='Landon' last='Weyer'], and a one-man wrecking crew in [player_tooltip player_id='348617' first='Allen' last='Pearson']. It's hard to imagine that some of these guys won't be day 1 impact players for the program.
