This scouting report features five players from 8-Man schools in Kansas who shined in 2022 at the quarterback position.

Not all of these prospects project as college quarterbacks and one has signed to compete in Track and Field, but the other four would add solid depth to a college football roster.

This is the first of multiple scouting reports focusing on Kansas 8-Man gems waiting to be mined.

[player_tooltip player_id='87645' first='Dylan' last='Bice'], 6'2”, 200, Thunder Ridge

Bice is a dual-threat quarterback for Thunder Ridge. During his senior season, he threw for 1,474 yards and rushed for 1,900. He is an experienced player being a top offensive threat for three years of his high school career. He finished with more than 4,000 rushing yards and 75 rushing touchdowns over those three years. He has a strong arm and would be a huge weapon in an RPO offense. He is scheduled to participate in the Kansas 8-Man All-Star Game in June. Bice is unsigned but appears to be choosing between two schools in the near future.

[player_tooltip player_id='123617' first='Isaac' last='Detweiler'], 5'11”, 180, Axtell

Detweiler has multiple offers but has yet to sign. He will be a good get for any of the NAIA Kansas schools that are currently recruiting him. He threw for over 2,000 yards and for 45 touchdowns during his senior season. He has a big arm and is an accurate thrower. The Axtell product was intercepted just once in 2022. He is scheduled to participate in the Kansas 8-Man All-Star game in June.

[player_tooltip player_id='170387' first='Keiondre' last='Smith'], South Sumner

Smith played quarterback for South Sumner but would probably move to a different position at the college level. He rushed for 1,299 yards and 30 touchdowns his senior season. He is lightning-quick and hard to tackle. Smith threw for 15 touchdowns his junior season, but that number dropped to three his senior year. He is scheduled to participate in the Kansas 8-Man All-Star game in June.

Colby Middleton, 6'1”, 204, Burlingame

Middleton is another dual-threat weapon. He threw for 1,235 yards and rushed for 1,207 for Burlingame during the 2022 season. He accounted for 88 offensive touchdowns during his senior and junior seasons. He is scheduled to participate in the Kansas 8-Man All-Star game in June.

Max Neeley, 5'11”, 180, Dighton

Neeley is a gifted athlete and he knows how to find the end zone. He accounted for 99 touchdowns over his final three years in high school. During his senior season, he rushed for 1,150 yards and 24 touchdowns. He is scheduled to participate in the Kansas 8-Man All-Star game in June. He has committed to Division II Emporia State University to compete in Track and Field.
