Today I visited the Comstock Park branch of PowerStrength, the #1 training facility for West Michigan athletes who intend on playing a college sport. There, I was able to scout out multiple future College Football players and a few young bucks getting ready for a breakout season. From established superstars like [player_tooltip player_id='159621' first='Timmy' last='Kloska'] to up-and-comers like [player_tooltip player_id='247638' first='Ethan' last='Carter'], here are my notes from today's training session!

QB | [player_tooltip player_id='232200' first='Mac' last='VandenHout'] | 2023 | Rockford

Mac is still going as hard as ever, even after his time as Rockford's QB has ended. Like all of these standouts, I was extremely impressed by just how in shape Mac is. For over an hour, he walked around lifting at least 2x as much as me with a consistent intensity that is hard to keep up. Of course, that's what you'd expect from an elite D2 prospect.

Considering Mac's pedigree, it's a bit surprising that he's still uncommitted. With offers from Northern Michigan and Davenport, it's safe to say that Mac is a highly-touted prospect in the GLIAC. If no more offers show up, then he'll have to make the decision to stay close to home at Davenport or head to the Upper Peninsula at Northern!

RB | [player_tooltip player_id='159621' first='Timmy' last='Kloska'] | 2023 | West Catholic

As of a few short hours ago, [player_tooltip player_id='159621' first='Timmy' last='Kloska'] has committed to Army! Through the past two years, Kloska has been one of my favorite prospects. In my book, this is the #1 prospect in West Michigan. He's broken records on the field and in the weight room, in addition to being a genuinely great guy. At PSTS, he was lifting a godly amount of weight and smiling while doing so.

That being said, I'll always be a fan of [player_tooltip player_id='300689' first='Tim' last='Kloska'] and can't wait to see him in the Black and Gold!

OL | Cooper Terpstra | 2023 | West Ottawa

This was my first time meeting Terpstra, though I've heard plenty about him prior! The Michigan State commit absolutely dominated the OK-Red this season. Any time, any place, against anyone, he was legit. With his high school success alongside measurables and how much this dude lifts, he could make some waves as a PWO!

LB | [player_tooltip player_id='286460' first='Elliot' last='Zainea'] | 2023 | West Catholic

I always liked Elliot as a prospect, and he played very well this season. Now, the first thing I asked him is if he was looking to play college football, and he said he's looking into Rugby! First off, I think Rugby would be absolutely perfect for Elliot. I could easily see him becoming an incredible Flanker, Centre, or maybe even Wing or Full Back. I know he'd very likely start as a Freshman on the Grand Valley Rugby Club, and I hope to god he doesn't join another Great Lakes conference school that I'll have to face off against!

DL | [player_tooltip player_id='247638' first='Ethan' last='Carter'] | 2025 | Grand Rapids Catholic Central

Upon arriving at PSTS, I heard a lot about [player_tooltip player_id='247638' first='Ethan' last='Carter']. He's a 2025 prospect that many are extremely excited about! This past season at Hudsonville, he played with a special tenacity and has multiple highlights overpowering opposing linemen. Surely, Ethan is on a great trajectory. I expect him to develop quite well at Catholic Central, and I hope he's on his way to reaching full potential!

Other prospects I saw

[player_tooltip player_id='232201' first='Alex' last='McLean'] (GVSU Commit), [player_tooltip player_id='286466' first='Caleb' last='Clinger'] (Hope Commit), [player_tooltip player_id='573573' first='Brody' last='Thompson'] (Hope Commit), [player_tooltip player_id='407299' first='Austin' last='Fenech'], [player_tooltip player_id='300380' first='Joe' last='Debski'], [player_tooltip player_id='286468' first='Bryce' last='DeBruyne'], [player_tooltip player_id='295480' first='Charlie' last='DeBruyn'], [player_tooltip player_id='286474' first='Jonny' last='Rohen-Blanton'], Jayce VandenHout (and many more!)

All of the prospects above also had amazing high school careers, or are on their way to their own legacy!
