The 2022 High School football season has now wrapped up. Throughout this season I've seen a ton of phenomenal athletes from the city of Houston. In this article, I will be covering standout athletes from the class of 2025 that I have seen this season from Houston.

North Shore Mustangs [player_tooltip player_id='281645' first='Devin' last='Sanchez'] CB So 6'2 180 lbs

It is extremely rare to see a tall and long limbs cornerback like [player_tooltip player_id='281645' first='Devin' last='Sanchez']. Devin is incredibly quick and fast providing a no-fly zone not allowing any passes to come through. Devin in his sophomore year is already a 5-star athlete overwhelming every wide receiver he comes across. When I interviewed Devin last season he told me “I went to North Shore because they fit my play style of defense and man coverage.” Devin is an athlete that knows what he wants and still having two more years of high school football Devin will be a big name in Texas.

College offers: the University of Texas San Antonio, the University of Southern California, the University of Alabama, Michigan State University, The University of Oklahoma, and the University of Texas to name a few

St. John Mavericks Cole Allen WR, RB, SS So 5'10 180 lbs

Cole Allen is what I like to call the rising star of St. John. This young man can do it all catch, run, block, tackle, and wherever he is needed Cole will get the job done. Cole is incredibly fast in either the running back or wide receiver position Cole could not be stopped. Besides the quarterback, Cole touched the ball most out of anyone on the field. On defense, Cole provided great coverage as a strong safety and was an efficient tackler with great form. Cole's stats this season were off the chart he is no ordinary sophomore and one of the best athletes in the game.

2022 Stats: 11 Games
Offense
RB: 82 Carries with 650 rushing yards for 18 touchdowns
WR: 39 receptions with 857 receiving yards for 10 touchdowns

Shadow Creek Sharks [player_tooltip player_id='432060' first='Jacorey' last='Watson'] QB, WR So 5'10 175 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id='432060' first='Jacorey' last='Watson'] mainly lined up as a wide receiver but got a couple of chances to throw the ball as a quarterback. Jacorey as a wide receiver was incredibly quick beating out the defender in front of him to catch passes and the two passes he caught they were both resulted in touchdowns. When Jacorey was a quarterback he had a phenomenal arm being able to throw short to mid-long passes with great accuracy. For being only a sophomore and leaving this much of an impact Jacorey will be a top-ranked player by next season.

College Offers: the University of Houston, University of Michigan, University of Texas, Ole Miss University, and Sam Houston State University to name a few.

2022 Stats: 12 Games
QB: 74/118 passes, 13 touchdown passes, 50 carries with 160 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns
WR: 24 receptions with 325 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns

Woodlands Highlanders Quanell Farrakhan Jr WR So 6'2 180 lbs

Quanell Farrakhan Jr has the #0 for a reason the man is a straight dog. Quanell is only a sophomore he is one of the fastest and quickest wide receivers I have seen in a while. Because of this Quanell overwhelmed any cornerback that lined up in front of him, they were not able to keep up with Quanell's speed. Quanell also was a punt returner and managed to score one touchdown by returning a punt for 60 yards. Quanell is the only athlete on this list who isn't a senior I can't wait to see his improvement in the next two years of his high school football career.

Atascocita Eagles [player_tooltip player_id='286372' first='Tory' last='Blaylock'] RB So 5'10 175 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id='286372' first='Tory' last='Blaylock'] had a great sophomore season at Atascocita High School. Whenever Tory got the ball he would rush through the hole, and zoom down the field. Tory was an excellent kickoff returner one game he returned the ball for a 70-yard touchdown. Tory is an integral player on Atascocita's offense only in his sophomore year I'm excited to see how he progresses throughout high school.
