Continue ReadingFantastic showing by the eighth grader. Legit 6’4, 285 lbs., solid flexibility for his size and age, and agile enough to adjust and react to quicker and speedier rushes coming from DTs and 3Ts. Also a nasty and natural finisher with good strength who has already played, and even excelled, at the high school varsity level. Has improved considerably since we first saw him at the Future Stars Game this past June. He’s going to be good one.
Highlights
One of the most impressive middle schoolers at the entire NEXTGEN Regional stop in Orlando was eighth-grade WR Christian Rust. Rhode Island native now playing in the heavyweight Ocoee youth ranks. Rust was more than comfortable against upperclassmen and varsity DBs and was strong enough to work through press coverage and stay on his marks and crafty in his releases at the LOS. He was also twitchy at the top of the route and had soft hands and had a lot of DBs spinning their heads around and grasping at air on Sunday.

A very promising and impressive seventh grader, this isn’t my first time running into Stecher and have seen him throw on a couple of occasions throughout Central Florida. Well-built, Stecher looks and plays far above his age and possesses arm talent and poise that I honestly I’ve never seen out of the middle school ranks. Did a great job through 1-on-1s as well and was more than able to complete every route on the route tree. We’ll be hearing a lot more about this kid in the future.

Another talented young gunslinger I’ve had the pleasure of already running into and scouting since I’ve moved to the Sunshine State, eighth grader Landen Holley Landen Holley 6’2″ | 160 lbs | QB Wesley Chapel | 2027 FL has a long, strong, and wiry frame and really stood out to me thanks to his accuracy while rolling out and on the move. He’s got a better arm than most high school sophomores I run across and can really sling the rock around. Confident and very coachable as well. Also a stud wrestler.
Highlights
Knox Fletcher
Knox Fletcher
Good length and a tall drink of water for a ‘28er with a basketball background playing forward. Made some athletic catches during 1-on-1s and was long and strong enough to fight off the press and overwhelm DBs in man coverage with his size.
Luke Wilson
Luke Wilson
Still has a lot of growing to do but was obviously athletic and showed off good balance and quick feet that helped him remain twitchy at the LOS and at the top of the route during 1-on-1s. Battled against some good corners and got some good wins throughout the day.
