Trace Hansen, ATH, Level Up/Adell, IA (2029)
- Trace has grown his stock a ton since I evaluated him in early December, as he was a favorite of mine on the defensive side of the ball for his football IQ and locked in footwork for his young age.
- What did Trace show off on Saturday in Dundas? He added to his plethora of skillsets an encouraging burst when the ball was in his hands in the small openings of the field. This kid’s finished speed can be described as “sneaky” in my eyes, as you really couldn’t see how fast he was until he popped his active feet out of a higher traffic area and bounced to the outside for a touchdown. Two write-ups in one month would make you bet that I LOVE the ceiling of this young man over the next several years, coming out of small-town Iowa.
Grant Jones Grant Jones 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Bellevue West | 2027 NE , ATH, Nebraska Elite/Bellevue, NE (2027)
- The Nebraska Elite coaching staff nominated Grant for our list of Junior High standouts as he was highly competitive and showed off some fluid instincts in the short reps I watched from him on Saturday at the Dundas Dome.
- He showed off a prospect that had that “it” factor when it came down to my eye test that showed off a bright future out of Bellevue, NE, which has had its massive fair share of development and talent come out of there over the last several years. Grant is a 2027 prospect to watch out for the Omaha area to grow and develop in the coming years.
Cael Kongshaung Cael Kongshaung 6'3" | 215 lbs | QB Iowa City | 2027 IA , QB, Level Up/Cedar Rapids, IA (2027)
- Cael was one of the most poised QBs I got to watch this weekend at the Dundas Dome as he showed off great footwork and was quite effective with his vision with his reads, regardless of where he was going with the football.
- This QB prospect can fire it on all three levels of the football field, as his powerful arm strength and precise accuracy he showed off throwing with his wide receiver’s routes was a blast to watch on multiple occasions this weekend. I also loved this young man’s character for his age, as he carried himself with the A+ character, which is something that college coaches will look for highly in their gunslinger at the next level. It might be early, but I certainly believe Cael looks like he has a Division I ceiling with his 6’4 frame and just how balanced he is within his skillsets slinging the rock around the yard.
Antonio Barajas, DB/ATH, Eagan, Minn/My7v7 (2028)
- This young man was a straight-up game-changer for the My7v7 defense with the versatility, open hips, and range he could cover in the secondary, just begging quarterbacks to throw in his region.
- Antonio also struck a chord with me with his hands, as he showed off a competitive edge that brought in close to every ball I got to watch offensively and had that seal-off ability with his defensive instincts. This will be a local kid that I will be tracking his progress over the next several years, as with a potential growth spurt brewing, there is a lot of upside to his game.
Yano Jones, QB, Nebraska Elite/Papillion, NE (2028)
- Talk about a playmaker on both sides of the ball; wow. Yano showed off his dynamic playmaking ability logging five passing touchdowns and played with an ambition to get more out of it for his team by getting multiple two-point conversions with his young QB gunslinger mentality he showed off on Saturday at the Dundas Dome.
- Defensively, he was the QB’s worst nightmare logging two interceptions and two pick-sixes in the morning/afternoon session. The super agile skillsets this youngster showed off from a versatility standpoint really balled out this weekend, and I hope to catch more reps live this winter/spring in the Midwest, getting an even firmer evaluation on this young man.
