We now enter a phase where we start to see junior colleges, Division 2, and Division 3 programs get into the act and hand out offers to athletes around the state. In this article, we begin to take a hard look at some promising prospects who either don’t have any offers yet, or will be waiting until the traditional signing day of February 3rd to put pen to paper.
Keegan Stover Keegan Stover 6'3" | 215 lbs | QB Rabun County | 2023 State GA – 6’4″ 220 – Rabun County HS / @StoverKeegan
Senior Stats: 219-354, 3,605 yards, 41 TD’s and 3 ints
Stover is a big body at 6’4 220, and is built sturdy and tall. Size tends to be an overrated aspect of the quarterback position, however it is an advantage. He have seen plenty of contact, one big advantage would be that he’s durable and tough enough to withstand a thumping at the next level. He’s got a solid arm with great zip and quick release. In several games he’s shown to have enough juice to get to the opposite hash and squeeze into tight zones across the field. Stover has plenty ability to be able to run an offense on the next level.
Quan Moss – 6’1″ 200 – Elbert County HS / @MossQuan
Senior Stats: 332 carries, 1,888 yards, 5.7 avg, 30 TD’s
Moss is an energetic player who plays the game lightning quick. Shows nice agility in tight areas making defenders look silly with sudden movement skills. Has the ability to put together multiple moves making defenders miss while working off of his natural instinct. A patient runner with excellent vision who almost always makes the correct initial first read. Appears natural when running through the “trash”, easily avoiding oncoming would be tacklers because of his short area quickness and elusiveness. Not afraid to put his head down and drive through the pile to pick up positive yardage. Has the ability to maintain speed when cutting or bursting around the outside defenders.
Cedrion Stone – 6-2″ 230 – Jasper County HS / @CedrionStone
Senior Stats: 67 solo tckls, 31 asst, 98 total tckls, 13 TFL, 10 sacks, 2 FF
There’s a lot to like about Stone, and it starts with his build. At six feet, two inches, and 230 pounds, he has a thick frame, and his long arms are an added bonus. All of this works in his favor as a tackler. We often see him drive through opponents thanks to that imposing size, and when he gets the ball-carrier wrapped up, it’s over. Also, it can’t be understated that these measurables can help in coverage as well, although he needs to further develop in this area. Those long arms should aid him in pressing or redirecting receivers. Tight ends aren’t going to bully him or body him out. Running backs may get some separation, but his reach will force quarterbacks to be on the mark. Stone also has the potential to be a big obstacle in zone coverage.
