Drew Logan Drew Logan 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Williams | 2023 AZ , RB/LB, Williams ’23
Logan was possibly the biggest game changer in the state in 8-man football. He led he state in rushing yards (1,628) and TD’s (37), and also racked up 95 total tackles. Really dynamic player that did everything for Williams, as he had to be an identified threat anywhere he lined up on both sides of the ball. Tough, physical player across the board that was a nightmare to bring down as a ball carrier. He rarely ever came off the field, showcasing an excellent motor and has seen his recruiting spark up with some D2, NAIA, and D3 attention.
Josh Morin Josh Morin 6'5" | 235 lbs | DL Heritage | 2023 State AZ , DL/OL, Heritage Academy Mesa ’23
Yet another kid from Heritage Academy opened enough eyes to gain D1 attention, as Morin announced his commitment to Southern Utah back in November. An absolutely dominant player that was a clear mismatch against anyone he lined up against. Great frame and build at 6’5″ 250lbs with really good strength at the POA. He has numerous intangibles to buld off of, and I think he can really blossom at Southern Utah. Coach Reese from Heritage deerves a ton of credit for his proven track record of finding ways to develop his athletes and bring them the deserved attention.
Kyle Nelson Kyle Nelson 6'5" | 205 lbs | TE Heritage Academy | 2023 State AZ , DE/TE, Heritage Academy Mesa ’23
Nelson was another mismatch from HA in the 2022 season. A gamechanger on both sides of the ball that has also received FCS attention. He does an excellent job winning those contested catches and putting his 6’5″ 205lb frame to good use. Physical after the catch as his first play of his film speaks for itself. Very impressive season for Nelson.
Bayk Kelton, ATH, Mogollon ’23
Kelton is a very dynamic player and a swiss army knife for Mogollon. He led the state in tackles, racking up 175 total with 107 of them being solo and also added 6 INT’s. He was also a threat on offense, racking up over 1,000 yards rushing with 23 TD’s and 221 yards receiving with 2 TD’s. Excellent burst with good speed and COD and flashes twitch as a ball carrier while also possesing that physicality, ultimately making him a dangerous weapon from multiple schemes. A fly around, sideline to sideline player on defense with good instincts and did a phenomenal job this season.
Danny Siegfried, QB, Williams ’23
Siegfried did a tremendous job commanding that Williams offense. He did a great job going through progression and flashed the ability to manipulate DB’s with his eyes with composure in the pocket. He displays a quick release with a smooth motion, translating his baseball ability to the QB position nicely. He did a solid job picking up yards on his feet when he needed to as well, flashing balance with physicality. Overall a great leader and an impressive 8-man QB.
