The latest 2025 rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma were released on Monday with the Top 100 for the state’s 2025 class. Throughout the week, we’ll be breaking down prospects throughout the rankings. From stock risers and newcomers to breakdowns by positions, it will be a busy week! So keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the week for more on the 2025 class. In this post, we’re putting a spotlight on the quarterback position. These are five of the best quarterbacks in the state’s 2025 class. And this breakdown doesn’t feature Deer Creek QB Grady Adamson Grady Adamson 6'1" | 215 lbs | QB Deer Creek | 2025 State OK , who was featured earlier this week in our 2025 Stock Risers article.
Our first quarterback on this breakdown has been on our radar since his freshman season where he enjoyed a breakout season. He’s the first of five quarterbacks on here that enjoyed breakout freshman seasons. But unfortunately for Bethel sophomore Bryce Tapley Bryce Tapley 6’0″ | 145 lbs | QB Bethel | 2025 OK , he had his sophomore campaign cut short. Tapley is also a standout baseball prospect so he might have his options down the road. And we definitely want to see more of Tapley after he had his 2022 season cut short. Compared to the other quarterback prospects in the state’s 2025 class, Tapley is looking to bounce back in a big way in 2023 and join those other quarterbacks. Tapley is an athletic, but efficient passer and Bethel does have some young talent to keep an eye on moving forward. But Tapley might opt for the baseball option.
Once again holding on to the top spot at the quarterback position is Edmond Memorial’s David McComb David McComb 6’3″ | 215 lbs | QB Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK . There are four quarterbacks within the top ten overall rankings but McComb holds on to the top spot, although it’s a tight race between the four. McComb appears to have all the tools to be the next elite quarterback prospect to come out of Oklahoma. Every time we see him throw the ball, that’s backed up by his ability to throw it all over the field and make just about every throw in the book. An underrated part about McComb’s game is that he’s not just a pocket passer. He’s not going to be a statue in the backfield. He can get out and run the ball and we saw a little bit of that during his sophomore season. It feels like McComb’s recruitment is about to absolutely explode this spring.
Highlights
We mentioned that group of four quarterbacks within the top ten and Muskogee’s Jamarian Ficklin Jamarian Ficklin 6’1″ | 180 lbs | QB Muskogee | 2025 State OK is apart of that group. The lefty is an outstanding athlete but don’t get that twisted. Ficklin is not an athlete that is playing quarterback. He’s a quarterback that happens to be an athlete. Ficklin has an incredibly high ceiling and the production he’s had so far in two seasons is among the best of the 2025 quarterbacks. Ficklin helped lead Muskogee to a 10-2 season and a semifinal appearance in 2022. And with him coming back to be a three-year starter this fall, we like the Roughers to be the favorite in Class 6A-2. The jump Ficklin made from freshman to sophomore year was highlighted by the game slowing down for him. We’re looking forward to seeing what progress he makes over the next six months.
Fairview quarterback Jax Bernard Jax Bernard 5’11” | 170 lbs | QB Fairview | 2025 State OK had to climb up the rankings after watching him in person as he helped lead Fairview to the Class A state championship, finishing off an undefeated season. Bernard was really impressive in the state championship game against Gore as he beat the Pirate defense with his arm and his legs. And it wasn’t just that performance that helped him climb up the quarterback ranks and overall ranks. Bernard has been very consistent over the last two seasons and he’s going to be very fun to watch moving forward. Fairview loses a few key pieces to graduation so Bernard is going to have to have a bigger role in 2023. We’re looking forward to seeing how he responds to that and if his production improves, remains the same or takes a step back. Regardless, he’s going to be fun to watch.
One of the very first 2025 quarterback prospects we knew about was Shaker Reisig Shaker Reisig 6’0″ | 185 lbs | QB Union | 2025 State OK as he was going into his freshman season at Jenks. He had quite a bit of hype around him already and after two seasons at the high school level, we think it’s safe to say that he’s lived up to that hype. Now at Union, Reisig had an outstanding sophomore season within the Union offense, putting up big and efficient numbers. His recruitment continues to pick up and should only continue as his film makes the rounds and he gets out to college campuses this offseason. Reisig is one of the more methodical quarterbacks that we watched during the 2022 football season. He’s not your average high school sophomore. He’s ready to go to the next level and he still has two more years of high school so we can’t wait to see what the finished product looks like.
