Quarterbacks
Glover was elite on Sunday and the clear top quarterback throughout the combine. He has all the traits of a Power Five prospect with his size, athleticism and arm talent that will only develop further inside the college game. He tested very well (9’6 broad jump) then looked smooth and precise during drill work and throughout 1 on 1 competition. Word is from Glover that a certain Power Five school is close to extending an offer and when that happens, watch this guy’s recruitment explode to a whole new level and inch closer to that status as the best in-state quarterback for the 2024 class.

Sunday at the #PRZTN Winter Showcase was a coming out party for Collins as if it wasn’t for Glover, this junior signal caller would have been QB MVP. He was very impressive, displaying his smooth mechanics, accurate right arm and effortless throwing motion while also placing good zip on the ball. Collins is a good athlete too that moves within the pocket well while keeping his eyes down field. His efficiency and football knowledge will take him a long way this offseason as Collins looks to boost his stock further and if he performs like he did last weekend, college coaches will surely become interested.

Among the small number of seniors on hand, Crenshaw had a strong day displaying his strong arm along with accurate throwing and a polished approach to the position that tells you he is ready for the college game. The Yellow Jackets senior passer is a big boy behind center that commands a big presence in the pocket that is tough for defenders to bring down. On Sunday at camp, Crenshaw showed off the kind of accuracy and ball placement that can be developed on the next level but right now, it’s all about finding which level this Mid-Tennessee quarterback can find a future home. He is worthy of a bigger look from college coaches as a developmental guy that can pay off big down the road.

Traveling all the way from East Tennessee, Cannon came to Oakland’s campus looking to make a name for himself and he certainly helped his cause with a solid performance at the #PRZTN Winter Showcase. Little is known about Cannon at the moment due to having to wait his turn to be the guy at Greeneville but this 6 ‘0 quarterback can sling it and he has a physical body, frame that plays up well on the next level. He is also a good athlete that handles the pocket well and can throw on the run. This will be a big offseason for Corbin as he doesn’t have the film to back him up right now but he will after the 2023 season.

Out of all the quarterbacks on hand at the #PRZTN Winter Showcase, Alexander was the one guy who enticed me the most as this was first time seeing him perform in person and this West Tennessee signal caller has some big time traits that scream college potential. This guy is a strong athlete behind center that sports sound mechanics and a powerful right arm that will only get stronger as he continues to mature. He tested very well (One of the best at his position) and looked sharp during drill work. Alexander has the size, arm talent and athleticism to reach the college game, so it’s all about putting it all together and developing at the rate that will get him to the promise land.

Running Backs
It took some time to get comfortable for Davis but in the end, this West Tennessee running back walked away as the positional MVP and someone that is bound for a breakout senior year. Once Davis got lathered up, his talents began to shine as he presents a nice combination of size and speed to the position that plays up well on the next level. Davis tested well then proceeded to show out during 1 on 1 competitions where he displayed excellent hands and route running. This is an intriguing talent that has a lot of physical traits that appeal to college coaches, so I expect to see more strong camp performance like last Sunday from Davis the rest of the offseason.

This guy was easily one of the more athletic prospects in attendance as Edwards had many watching on hand impressed with his skill set and someone that should take on a bigger role for his junior season. Explosive, fast and dynamic, Edwards is an elusive playmaker that presents a lot of challenges for opposing defenders and he showed off those skills and then some at the combine on Sunday. The Golden Bears sophomore back was one of the best testers at his position and one of the best receivers during 1 on 1 competition. Expect to see Edwards’ role expand more for the 2023 season and keep growing his recruiting stock even further.

Every year you find guys who are absolute camp stars that may not have much film or playing time behind him but Smith is that guy and someone that impressed many in attendance last weekend. Undersized but strong and athletic, Smith is a versatile back that runs hard and has some juice in those legs. He was excellent during drill work as well as 1 on 1 competition where he displayed some of his best skills in running routes and catching passes. This Mid-Tennessee back brings a lot of strong traits to the field that should be utilized more during his upcoming senior season this Fall.

Tyson Bryant
Tyson Bryant
One of the best receivers and overall performing running backs from last weekend’s Showcase was Bryant and someone that can continue boosting his stock further with more strong offseason camp performances like this one. This Summertown offensive talent was one of the fastest, most elusive backs at camp last weekend where he did several good things throughout drill work then proceeded to standout big time catching passes during 1 on 1’s. Bryant must continue putting on more size but this guy can move and has the kind of skills that translate well into the college game.
