Commitment Tracker: Seniors Taken Off The Market

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Back in the lab to break down more senior commitments, here we go in-depth with eight prospects ranked inside our "Tennessee Top 300" and how they fit with their future college teams. These players are talented with a potential bright future ahead of them and with most, if not all the prospects listed here, I like the fit with their eventual next level teams. </h2>     (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1287058' first='Gavin' last='Hampton'] - Riverdale    * Committed to Mississippi St. *   - The Bulldogs might have found their quarterback of the future with this Murfreesboro signal caller that reclassified to sign with the 2027 recruiting class. Hampton was originally a part of our in-state junior class but decided to move his timeline up and get his college days started earlier. Throughout the process, Mississippi St. appeared to be a team Hampton had great interest with and in the end, it proved to be true as the Warriors quarterback chose the Bulldogs over Arizona St., Arkansas St., Cincinnati, Illinois, Iowa St., North Carolina and Troy. I don't think the Bulldogs staff is expecting Hampton to come into camp next year and compete for significant snaps, so it's all about learning the college life and the playbook early on in hopes of this Mid-Tennessee product taking over the starting role somewhere down the road.    Talent Acquisition: A tall pocket passer with a big right arm, Hampton fits the style of quarterback Coach Lebby and his Bulldogs offensive staff wants behind center. The Warriors signal caller has the college look, overall size desired along with passing tools that can eventually produce a lot of yards in the Southeastern Conference. Hampton shows the ability to stand strong in the pocket while keeping his eyes down field and looking for the open receiver. He also shows the upside at fitting the ball into windows and giving receivers the ability to make plays after the catch. Hampton does need to show quicker footwork in the pocket while ramping up his trigger to get the ball out but the pure passing tools are in place to potentially start in the SEC one day.    - - - - -    (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1103039' first='Jacorrion' last='Tramble'] - Notre Dame   * Committed to Toledo *   - Ranked as a current “Top 40” prospect by Prep Redzone Tennessee, Toledo might have gained a steal here with Tramble but only if this Chattanooga native continues to progress like his talent says he can. Throughout the recruiting process, Tramble generated good interest for himself while obtaining several strong offers, including a few Power Four opportunities but in the end, the Rockets proved to be the team that wanted to go all in on his upside and develop him within their system. The Fighting Irish wideout committed to Toledo over Coastal Carolina and South Florida while having interest from schools like Tennessee, Vanderbilt and others. I like this pickup for Toledo as they might be getting a number one or two future wideout that has the physical tools and upside to take his game beyond the college ranks.    Talent Acquisition: The last sentence above says that Tramble could have a future on the pro level but only if the Fighting Irish senior embraces coaching and the grind needed to make it there. While sporting great physical tools and big play upside, Tramble is still a work in progress that needs a lot of time to develop before he is able to make an impact with the Rockets. What stands out about Tramble is his combination of athleticism, size and speed that could make him tough to handle for opposing defensive backs. Once the ball is in his hands, Tramble is tough to bring down due to his powerful, thick frame and his ability to separate. I can see the potential for this 6 '3 pass catcher to become an outside college receiver that uses his physicality and size to make tough contested catches while also presenting strong potential in the red zone. There is a lot to learn for Tramble moving forward but if he continues to progress in the right direction, I like what this TN2027 receiver can become at Toledo.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2026/03/jtramble-e1773609688862.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-2150991" style="aspect-ratio:1.6100778949722336;width:294px;height:auto" /></figure>   - - - - -    (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1629937' first='Kaden' last='Webber'] - GCA    * Committed to Army *   - Going into the off-season recruiting cycle, Webber didn't have a lot of buzz but he changed that with continued development and work that eventually landed him on the D1 level with Army. The Rams senior wideout is one of the best workers we have in the TN2027 class that consistently put himself in the public eye at camps and showcases to display his next level upside and it paid off. After several weeks and months of grinding on the gridiron, the offers started to come through, including the Black Knights, where Webber can make an impact on the football field while also doing something special outside of football. This East Tennessee product eventually chose Army over offers from Indianapolis, Navy and Virginia Military Institute. While I do think that Webber will remain firm with the Black Knights, I could see others wanting to get on board with him, especially if the Rams wideout has a breakout senior year.    Talent Acquisition: Currently ranked inside our “Top 200” senior prospects, Webber is an all-around talented wideout that provides a little bit of everything on the football field. The biggest thing the Rams senior needed to work on this off-season to boost his stock was increasing his speed and I believe Webber did that. Increasing his explosion and speed landed him at Army while gaining interest from others but Webber is also a sure handed pass catcher that runs good routes while showing concentration with tough, contested receptions. Blocking in the run game is something that could be a strength for Webber on the college stage as well. Plenty of development is left to go for this Knoxville area prospect but Webber seems to be on the right path with possibly his best high school season ahead this Fall.   - - - - -    (OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1293357' first='Brayden' last='Washington'] - Collierville   * Committed to Charlotte *   - Washington has been on the college radar for multiple years and after some ups and downs throughout his recruitment, this Memphis area prospect found a home with Charlotte. Transferring to Collierville in the off-season, this 6 '4 interior big man gained strong interest during portions of his recruitment but many options went away, however the 49ers came hard after Washington, hosted him for an official visit and eventually landed his commitment. The Dragons big man ended up choosing Charlotte over offers from Arkansas St., Liberty, Memphis, MTSU, Southern Miss, Toledo, UCF and Western Kentucky. I do like the fit here with Washington as he needs time to develop both on the field and inside the weight room but could one day form into a starting offensive guard or center for the 49ers.    Talent Acquisition: Physicality and natural power is what immediately pops out to you when scouting this West Tennessee offensive lineman. Washington plays with a mean streak and when he gets his feet under him, the Dragons big man can drive players off the ball and into the second level. The Dragons senior is a good athlete too that shows nice lateral movements, solid footwork that can get faster and upside with his bend and flexibility. Technique and his body mass are the two areas that I think kept him out of the Power Four level, at least at the moment. All the tools talked about above are there for Washington to form into a starter at Charlotte but he needs time to develop every aspect of himself and his game before he is able to become dependable up front. I do like the long term upside with Washington and what he can turn into with the 49ers.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2026/07/braywashington.jpg?w=819" alt="" class="wp-image-2246410" style="aspect-ratio:0.8005930318754633;width:255px;height:auto" /></figure>   - - - - -    (OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1587368' first='Logan' last='Murray'] - Davidson Academy   * Committed to Troy *   - One of the fastest risers this off-season within our TN2027 recruiting class, Murray is a steal, a potential multi-year starter with Troy that displays a profile that could work beyond the college game. The Bears interior O-line prospect became a hot commodity on the recruiting trail early this off-season and continued to see his offer list grow into the summer. After picking up several quality offers, Murray committed to Troy and I like the fit with both parties. The Trojans have produced several good O-linemen throughout the years, including several that have made it to the pro ranks. Murray fits that profile and I think he still has his best football days ahead of him. This Nashville native ultimately chose the Trojans over Austin Peay, Bowling Green, Chattanooga, Mercer, Rice, Southern Illinois and several others. I do believe that Murray will sign with Troy in December but I wouldn't be surprised to see other D1, possible Power Four come calling.    Talent Acquisition: As it was mentioned above, I think Troy got a steal with Murray. This guy is a brute mauler in the run game that displays upside with his pass blocking. The Bears senior has a nice build with big, broad shoulders and an athletic, powerful lower base that translates very well to the next level. Murray handles tackle for his Davidson Academy offense, which speaks towards his athleticism but I believe he works best inside at guard, even playing on the left side. I see a versatile skill set with Murray as well, meaning I think he could provide snaps anywhere on the interior and at right tackle if needed. Much like every high school player, continued work needs to be done in several areas for Murray to fulfill his potential but I like the ceiling with him and future with the Troy Trojans.    - - - - -    (Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='1693459' first='Jayland' last='Eckford'] - Jackson Central-Merry   * Committed to Austin Peay *   - Currently ranked as the 3rd best edge rusher prospect by Prep Redzone Tennessee, this West Tennessee product floated under the radar for most of the recruiting process but eventually found a home with Austin Peay where I think Eckford can develop and flourish as an eventual multi-year starter. The Cougars defensive star has done nothing but produce during his time at JC Merry and be a nuisance off the edge for opposing offensive blockers. The Austin Peay staff saw the upside with Eckford and pursued him with everything they had and I think they got a steal! Before choosing the Governors, this Jackson area defender considered other offers from MTSU, North Alabama and Tennessee-Martin. Eckford is one of my scouting favorites that I think has tremendous upside, so I definitely would not be surprised to see bigger programs become interested by the end of the 2026 season.    Talent Acquisition: The Governors could be getting a future sack artist that becomes a feared defender within the United Athletic Conference. Eckford has possibly the best get-off, release off the snap in the state with a nice bend around the edge and closing speed. The Cougars senior prospect shows a quick first step that causes fits for opposing blockers. He is a good athlete too with an agile lower base and plenty of room to get bigger and stronger. That's the main thing for Eckford moving forward is to fill out his frame and gain more mass. Doing that will make him better suited in stopping the run. We have Eckford ranked as the 52nd ranked prospect in the state and that's because we love his upside and what he can become down the road as a pass rush specialist that opposing teams have to have a game plan for.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2026/03/jeckford.jpg?w=400" alt="" class="wp-image-2146886" style="width:232px;height:auto" /></figure>   - - - - -    (DL) [player_tooltip player_id='1576763' first='Joshua' last='Lane'] - Memphis Central   * Committed to Memphis *   - Landing several solid offers throughout the process, Lane made the decision to stay home to play his college ball by pledging his services to Memphis. The Tigers landed this local D-lineman as Lane saw the fit and developmental factor with the hometown team and what he can become in a Memphis uniform. The Warriors defensive prospect generated good buzz during the off-season but couldn't break through the Power Four ceiling. That may change down the road but I think beginning his career at Memphis is a smart move for Lane as he needs time to grow and develop his game. Before deciding on the Tigers, Lane considered other offers from the likes of Austin Peay, Chattanooga, Jacksonville St., Louisiana Tech, South Florida, Southern Miss and Western Kentucky. It will be interesting to see how much better Lane has gotten from last season because good D-linemen are hard to find, so depending on his progression, I could see bigger schools sniff around with interest.    Talent Acquisition: The Tigers coaching staff is banking on the long term upside with Lane and what he can become down the road. Scouting this Memphis area product over the last few years, I see a good bit of development needed for Lane to become an impactful player on the college stage. This coming senior season will show me a lot on what kind of player Lane is forming into and what he can eventually do on the college stage. The Warriors senior is a versatile D-lineman that can provide snaps at defensive end or eventually gain enough mass to slide inside to play the interior. Lane is solid athletically with room to grow in that area. I think Lane is better suited right now to set the edge versus the run while providing the occasional pass rush. I can see the upside and why Memphis took his commitment as Lane has the size, overall look along with the athletic potential to become a serviceable player one day.    - - - - -    (DT) [player_tooltip player_id='902956' first='Justice' last='Pittman'] - BGA   * Committed to Western Kentucky *   - Over the past two years, Pittman has steadily gotten better and improved his game to where he has become a D1 prospect that recently pledged his services to Western Kentucky. The Wildcats defensive tackle ultimately chose the Hilltoppers over offers from Bowling Green, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Ky, Furman, Georgia St., Kent St., Liberty, Memphis, MTSU and Southern Miss. Pittman was garnering some light Power Four interest as well but went with the Hilltoppers due to his comfortability with the staff and their vision for his success. I do like the fit between the two parties as the Western Ky staff should allow Pittman to develop and take his time forming into himself before he is asked to play an impactful role. If this Mid-Tennessee product continues to progress in the right direction, Pittman could develop into a serviceable starter at WKU that can have a successful college career.    Talent Acquisition: Pittman has been an interesting prospect for me to scout over the past few years because at one time, I saw a prospect that was very raw that needed to form his body better while cranking up his motor. I think the Wildcats big man has gotten better in several of those areas, which in turn led him to Western Ky and an opportunity on the D1 level. What Pittman brings to the field is good size with room to get bigger and stronger along with a nice athletic profile that shows interior pass rushing upside. If the Wildcats senior can develop his profile, I can see a solid run stuffer as well.
