I’m aware I mentioned most of these athletes back in October, but there are a few notable names I’d like to make sure to mention. This article features one of the most dominant freshmen in the state, and a ton of stud incoming juniors!
ATH | Jayden Terry Jayden Terry 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Grandville | 2026 State MI | Grandville | 2026
Terry is an incredible football player, and he knows it. The Freshman RB has great vision and insane speed, as he outran the competition all season, rushing for nearly 1400 yards. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Freshman so dominant in the OK-Red, and the sky’s the limit for Jayden. He’s a sure-fire college football player, and his floor is an Elite DII Program like GVSU for Ferris. I really hope Jayden keeps working his tail off and eventually gets the opportunity to play for a P5 school at the next level!
DT | Carson Kubczak | Grandville | 2025
Another Bulldog with a much different style of dominance. The 6’0, 240 lb lineman has flashed great skills and has a high ceiling. It’s not often we see a dominant interior D Lineman, but Kubzak has the potential to be one. His lower body strength is great, and it’s obvious he puts in work at the gym. Keep pumping weight and plan out those meals! Carson could be a star soon!
ATH | Jonathan Hyzer | Rockford | 2025
Hyzer is one of many underclassmen that will have their turn to compete at a high level at Rockford. He’s shown some flashes this season with great speed and elusiveness. Hyzer didn’t play the full season on Varsity, but with another massive Rockford senior class, Hyzer could make a name for himself as soon as next year.
QB | Brody Betser | Caledonia | 2025
Bester will presumably pick up were Mason Mckenzie Mason Mckenzie 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Caledonia | 2023 State MI left off. Bester has great deep throw touch and is able to improvise on the run, which is required of this new Cal offense. I’m curious to see if he’ll be able to run the ball like Mckenzie did, but all in all, I’m looking forward to seeing Bester play his own style of game.
RB | Kayden Forbes Kayden Forbes 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB West Ottawa | 2025 State MI | West Ottawa | 2025
I’ve discussed Forbes quite a few times. This is a great RB that will start all four years of his high school career! Even though he missed a few games, Forbes totaled 802 rushing yards and 9TDs through 7 games. That’s 114 yards per game in one of the most difficult leagues in the state! Going into his Junior season, I’m looking forward to seeing how he improves.
T/G | Micah Young | Jenison
Young is a talented and strong offensive lineman who showed a lot of potential on JV this season. He won’t be ranked in the next update, but he’ll surely be a Varsity starter soon. Decent fundamentals and impressive strength make for a promising OL prospect in the Red. His height is more suited for IOL play, but he could also start at tackle. Keeping up the strength and improving the little things will go a long way for Micah Young!
