These young men were consistent contributors at the varsity level as only freshmen. They have a very high ceiling and I believe they will continue to be high-impact performers over the next three seasons. With that being said, here are my top freshmen’ offensive weapons.
WR: Damion King, De La Salle
- Outstanding body control through contested catches.
- An extremely talented runner after the catch.
- Fearless going over the middle.
- Has a menacing running style that causes a ton of missed tackles.
RB: Izaiah Wright Izaiah Wright 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Gibraltar Carlson | 2026 State MI , Carlson
- Shows great vision through crowded quarters.
- Can quickly accelerate once he spots a seam.
- Bursts through tackle attempts, dragging his opponents with him.
- Patient while allowing his blocks to set up in front of him.
RB: James Rush James Rush 5'10" | 165 lbs | ATH Saline | 2026 State MI , Saline
- Smooth change of direction.
- Understands when he needs to get north and south.
- A natural at reading his zone keys and making his opponent wrong.
- Has the balance to pick up extra yards after first contact.
RB: Traverse Moore Traverse Moore 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH DeWitt | 2026 State MI , DeWitt
- Looks to impose his will on tacklers.
- Plenty of build-up speed to gash defenses on long touchdown runs.
- Showed some wiggle once he gets to the second and third levels of the field.
- Feet never stop churning when carrying the football.
RB: Joshua Rogers Joshua Rogers RB Detroit King | 2026 MI , King
- A steady receiving threat working out of the backfield.
- Cuts are quite explosive and cause little deceleration.
- Can stretch and puncture on zone runs, cutting all the way to the backside.
- A high-production runner between the tackles or outside of them.
TE: Tristan Comer Tristan Comer 6'7" | 220 lbs | TE Freeland | 2026 State MI , Freeland
- Freaky size to go with excellent concentration as a pass catcher.
- Has a firm punch in the run game.
- Plays with an attitude that’s hard to teach.
- Has a ton of raw power that is waiting to be unleashed.
WR: Corey Sadler Corey Sadler 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Cass Tech | 2026 State MI Jr., Cass Tech
- lightning in a bottle with the ball in his hands to go with breakaway speed.
- A technician as a route runner against off-man or press.
- Has noticeable upper-body play strength that allows him to get hands off against press coverage.
- Tracks the deep ball over the shoulder like a natural.
RB: Marcello Vitti, Divine Child
- Good speed to go with dynamite playmaking ability.
- Can create chunk plays as a receiver out of the backfield.
- Plenty of shake to make defenders miss.
- Immediately accelerates once his blocks are set up.
