The Fall season standout series continues!! Read more about the most outstanding players from the area.

2023 5'9 191 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='146616' first='Jamal' last='Mungo'] Jr - Archbishop Carroll

[player_tooltip player_id='146616' first='Jamal' last='Mungo'] Jr absolutely dominated out of the backfield for Archbishop Carroll this season. He ran for over 1,000 yards and nearly 10 total touchdowns. Mungo led the team in carries with 106, and he averaged more than six yards per carry with those touches which is a spectacular average to have on the year. The Lions would've had an exponentially more difficult time winning the WCAC Metro conference this year without [player_tooltip player_id='146616' first='Jamal' last='Mungo'], and he most certainly cemented himself as one of the all-time great running backs in Archbishop Carroll's history. Mungo Jr finished third on the overall D.C. rushing leaders list in 2022, and running back scouts everywhere must recruit him very seriously. He was my pick for 1st Team All-WCAC running back, and he has earned at least a chance at the next level if you ask me.

Highlights: https://t.co/bavPGFTtZF

2025 6'3 180 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='1230156' first='Nahshon' last='Wilson'] - St. Michael the Archangel Catholic

[player_tooltip player_id='1230156' first='Nahshon' last='Wilson'] played one of the best overall seasons in the nation at the quarterback position, and he did so as a Freshman first year starter. Wilson led St. Michael the Archangel to a VA state championship, and, along the way, he threw for more than 1,500 yards and nearly 20 touchdowns. He also added 400 yards and 7 touchdowns of offense on the ground with his rushing attack. [player_tooltip player_id='1230156' first='Nahshon' last='Wilson'] is an already one of the premier dual-threat quarterbacks in the DMV, regardless of class, and he just put the 2025 quarterback class on notice with his next level play in 2022. [player_tooltip player_id='1230156' first='Nahshon' last='Wilson'] earned 1st Team All-State honors in 2022 as well, and you can best believe that [player_tooltip player_id='1230156' first='Nahshon' last='Wilson'] will be back with the repeat on his mind in 2023. Wilson is as elite of a prospect as there is coming out of the 2023 class.

Highlights: https://t.co/1gW1JOqZfk

2024 5'11 185 WR - [player_tooltip player_id='524508' first='Tyler' last='Brown'] - Archbishop Spalding

You'd be hard pressed to find a more well-rounded football player out there than [player_tooltip player_id='524508' first='Tyler' last='Brown']. Brown posted an incredible all-around stat-line in 2022, and the numbers prove that he truly does it all for Spalding on the football field. Brown made 7 interceptions including a pick-6, 44 total tackles, 350 receiving yards, and even a kick-off return touchdown on special teams. It's almost impossible to find such an intricate season stat-line, however, it's simply the reality of [player_tooltip player_id='524508' first='Tyler' last='Brown']'s unprecedented overall season for the Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers. The Junior utility player already has offers from schools such as Campbell and Rhode Island, but, after such a fantastic season, there's no doubt in my mind that more offers will be rolling in soon for Brown. He's absolutely a next level talent, and he's great everywhere on the football field.

Highlights: https://t.co/fnvSB4UVwS

2023 6'1 175 WR - Avery Jones - Mount St. Joseph's

Avery Jones was absolutely one of the elite receivers in the state of Maryland this season. He led the charge and set the tone for the MTSJ's receiving corps all year, and he cemented himself as one of the top receivers in Mount St. Joseph's program history. Jones hauled in about 700 yards receiving and 7 touchdowns in 2022, and he even received academic athlete honors at MTSJ as a result of his hard work and success both on and off the field. Jones' hard work is also represented by his two way play, and he demonstrated skill and comfort at the defensive back position all season. Avery Jones plays with heart and energy on every play, and he's a natural leader on the football field. The Senior pass catcher has offers from Morgan State and others, but it's for certain that more scouts should have offered him by now. Avery Jones belongs at the next level, and he will make a very positive impact on whichever program takes a chance on him.

Highlights: https://t.co/W31D8mhHRM

2025 5'11 180 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='218627' first='Peyton' last='Nelson'] - Good Counsel

Peyton "Pey Pey" Nelson put on a show this year out of the backfield for Good Counsel. In tandem with [player_tooltip player_id='249102' first='Dilin' last='Jones'], [player_tooltip player_id='218627' first='Peyton' last='Nelson'] put forth the best season of his career so far, and the Sophomore ball carrier established himself as one of the elite running backs in the class of 2025. Nelson, the 2nd Team All-WCAC honoree, ran for nearly 500 yards this Fall, and he added close to 5 touchdowns with those carries. Nelson's quickness and shiftiness both really standout when you watch him play, and he's extremely efficient in red-zone scoring formations. [player_tooltip player_id='218627' first='Peyton' last='Nelson'] is the future of the Good Counsel backfield, and that future is extremely bright for the GC Falcons. [player_tooltip player_id='218627' first='Peyton' last='Nelson'] is one of the premier running backs in the WCAC, regardless of class.

Highlights: https://t.co/SzyjxmflIG
