Several QBs tested very well and even more showed off elite ball placement in our 1v1 drills. I’m pleased to bring to you our top 12 best testers from the MN Stockup-Showcase!
Will Barthel Will Barthel 5'11" | 165 lbs | QB Sr. Michael-Albertville Highschool | 2024 MN STMA 2024 5’11” 160 lbs
40: 4.82
Shuttle: 4.31
Broad Jump: 9′
L-Drill: 7.34
Barthel performed incredibly well at the Tonka Dome. The junior QB looks to take over the helm for the Knights going into next season. He showed off some real arm talent, as well as great mobility. I think Barthel could add a whole new dimension to the Knights offense next season.
Gavin Caswell Gavin Caswell 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Rosemount | 2025 State MN : Rosemount 2025 5’11” 175 lbs
40: 5.09
Shuttle: 4.56
Broad Jump: 8’9″
L-Drill: 6.98
Fresh off a deep run to the state championship, Caswell turned heads at the showcase. He showed off some great agility, which is evident in the pocket if you watch any of his film. A varsity starter as a sophomore, expect big things from Caswell in the future.
Cole Heilbrun Cole Heilbrun 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Wayzata | 2024 State MN : Wayzata 2024 6′ 200 lbs‘
40: 5.09
Shuttle: 4.59
Broad Jump: 8’1″
L-Drill: 7.47
Our QB MVP, Heilbrun was impressive in nearly everything he did at the Tonka Dome. He fills out his frame very well and shows flashes of great mobility. His ball placement and arm strength are both elite. 2023 could be the year of Heilbrun.
Garrison Jackman Garrison Jackman 6'0" | ATH Litchfield | 2024 MN : Litchfield 2024 6′ 145 lbs
40: 5.07
Shuttle: 4.62
Broad Jump: 8’4″
L-Drill: 7.32
The accomplished Litchfield special teamer showed out at the showcase. His agility was what really stuck out to me. He can change direction very quickly and generates a ton of power for his 145-pound frame. His senior campaign with the Dragons should draw a lot of attention.
Ky Kelvie Ky Kelvie 5'8" | 160 lbs | QB Buffalo | 2024 State MN : Buffalo 2024 5’4″ 140 lbs
40: 4.81
Shuttle: 4.62
Broad Jump: 8’7″
L-Drill: 7.19
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE HIM. Kelvie showed off the best ball placement of anyone at the showcase. He has solid footwork in the pocket and can move if you need him to. Kelvie is an athlete I’m rooting for in 2023.
Brady Kittelson Brady Kittelson 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Blooming Prairie | 2025 State MN : Blooming Prairie 2025 6’1″ 170 lbs
40: 4.7
Shuttle: 4.5
Broad Jump: 9’5″
L-Drill: 7.21
Kittelson was named combine MVP by my colleague Nate Wahl and I’m inclined to agree. The “Awesome Blossoms” sophomore moves incredibly well and possesses an already college-ready frame. He looks to be a true dual-threat QB and I believe his recruitment stock is going to explode during this offseason.
Hudson Maynard Hudson Maynard 6'1" | 170 lbs | ATH Andover | 2025 State MN : Andover 2025 5’10” 155 lbs
40: 4.56
Shuttle: 4.15
Broad Jump: 8’8″
L-Drill: 7.12
I don’t know how Andover does it, but they are a QB factory. Maynard may not be looking at a starting spot next year, but physically he is more than ready. The sophomore is a great athlete and puts great touch on the ball as well. This kid is a sleeper for the Huskies.
Austin Randall Austin Randall 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Waconia | 2024 State MN : Waconia 2024 5’11” 170 lbs
40: 4.78
Shuttle: 4.5
Broad Jump: 8’11”
L-Drill: 7.69
I’ve been watching Randall develop over the course of the last year and he has come miles from where he was. He’s a true dual-threat QB, who shows off some great athleticism. His ball placement has improved greatly, and his arm strength gets better by the day. Randall is on my short list of possible breakouts next season.
Jacob Sampson Jacob Sampson 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Mounds View | 2025 State MN : Mounds View 2025 6’2″ 170 lbs
40: 4.97
Shuttle: 4.31
Broad Jump: 8’10”
L-Drill: 7.05
Sampson has good size for a sophomore. The young QB showed off some impressive agility and explosiveness at the Tonka Dome. He also had some solid reps in 1v1s. I look forward to seeing his film in the upcoming year to see how these numbers translate into movement in the pocket.
Tayvin Smith Tayvin Smith 6'3" | 170 lbs | QB Osseo | 2025 MN Osseo 2025 6’2″ 160
40: 5.12
Shuttle: 4.43
Broad Jump: 9’4″
L-Drill: 7.45
Smith immediately caught the eyes of several of my colleagues and me prior to the showcase even starting. He threw some absolute dots while warming up and set the tone for the day. He continued to deliver great passes all afternoon and showed off some of his great agility and athleticism during the day. I expect him to be a big-time impact player for Osseo in the near future.
Ryan Warford Ryan Warford 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Cretin-Derham Hall | 2023 MN Cretin-Derham Hall 2023 5’10” 190 lbs
40: 4.87
Shuttle: 4.66
Broad Jump: 8’5″
L-Drill: 7.34
The CDH QB was far below my radar prior to this and I can safely say that was a mistake. Warford is a solid athlete, well-rounded in every way. He also has some dang good throwing mechanics and puts a nice touch on the ball. Warford is still uncommitted but is going to be a huge steal for whoever picks him up.
Kameron Fox Kameron Fox 5'11" | 190 lbs | QB Cooper | 2024 State MN Cooper 2024 5’9″ 170 lbs
40: 4.94
Shuttle: 4.4
Broad Jump: 8’8″
L-Drill: 7.13
Fox has been a starting QB around MN for the last few years, and he continues to improve every time I see him. His mechanics are constantly getting better and his agility is fantastic. His ability to stop and change directions in the blink of an eye is incredible. Fox is going to make waves in his senior season.
