Expert Analysis

Kittelson is a tall, big-armed quarterback. His arm is the obvious attribute to highlight here, but I was just as impressed with his footwork. He uses his lower body well when making throws. His ability to drive off his lower half gives him some extra power that just arm strength wouldn’t get. He doesn’t just use his legs as the base for his passing. The quarterback is a threat to run – especially with the designed runs in the Awesome Blossoms’ playbook. He has great balance in the open field, shaking off tacklers in the pocket or throwing on the move. Kittelson rarely comes off the field as he plays defensive backs and returns punts as well.

Ranked 171st on prephoops.comrnKittelson is another big-armed, dual-threat quarterback. He makes his deep throws look smooth and easy. He throws an accurate, catchable deep ball and can throw balls on a rope to the sidelines on deep outs. His long, athletic build gives him an ideal build for a quarterback. His athletic ability makes him a threat on designed runs between the tackles. Once on the second level, Kittelson is not looking to slide. He is strong enough to bounce off tackles and athletic enough to make guys miss. Operating almost exclusively out of the shotgun, Kittelson has excellent balance in the pocket, allowing the junior to slip tackles, move in the pocket and buy time. He also plays some defensive back and sometimes returns punts for the Awesome Blossoms. On the basketball court, he is the second leading scorer – at almost 18 points a game for the 19-2 tenth-ranked 1A school.

Kittelson’s strengths contribute to a well-rounded and dynamic skill set. His expertise starts with delivering a precise deep ball, providing a vertical threat for the offense. Kittelson’s passing abilities stand out with a combination of velocity and accuracy, showcasing a strong arm that can threaten defenses in all areas of the field. His precision passing allows only his intended receivers to make a play, minimizing turnovers and maximizing offensive potential. As a dual-threat quarterback, Kittelson adds another layer to his game by being able to tuck the ball and run, utilizing both speed and elusiveness. His mobility extends beyond scrambling, as he maintains accuracy and velocity when throwing on the run, whether rolling out of the pocket or executing designed rollouts. Kittelson’s multifaceted skills, including accuracy to all areas of the field and dual-threat capability, make him a challenging and valuable asset for any offense.

Our final top Stock Riser from Monday’s official 2025 rankings update in the Great State of Minnesota, Blooming Prairie’s QB/ATH Brady Kittelson is reaping the rewards of balling out at one of our offseason PrepRedzoneMN Showcases, where he came in at 6’2, 170 lbs. and posted a 4.7 flat in the 40, a 4.5 short-shuttle, and a 9’5″ broad jump to spotlight his athletic gifts on the gridiron. That’s not to say he didn’t flash as a QB, where his arm was snappy, clean, and accurate, and he kept catching my eye over and eye throughout the course of the day of competition. Kittelson, whose older brother Drew is now a redshirt freshman WR at MSU-Mankato but also manned the QB spot for the Awesome Blossoms as a prep and was similarly talented. The athleticism we saw in a non-padded setting also shows up quite nicely in Brady’s sophomore highlights from 2022, where he hurt defenses with both his arm and his legs. Able to buy time, break tackles, and scramble well around the pocket, Kittelson’s footwork also extends to his ball-carrying ability, where he shows a quick, nice step to beat tackle attempts in the open field. He also possesses a ton of burst, can slip out of tackle attempts well for his size, and is accurate to all three levels of the field with his arm. It’s really nice when we can verify a player’s on-field athleticism with testing numbers, and Kittelson’s a good example of that, and when you combine it with his dynamic ability and bloodlines, it’s no wonder the stud Awesome Blossom made our biggest jump of the update. He rose 20 spots from #102 to #82 overall.

The younger brother of uber-accomplished Blooming Prairie graduate QB turned MSU-Mankato WR Drew Kittelson, younger brother Brady came into December’s PRzMN Stock-Up Showcase and tore it up, catching the eye of multiple scouts and college coaches throughout the course of the session. Ran a 4.7 flat in the 40, 4.5 in the short-shuttle x2, and posted two impressive broad jumps of 9’3″ and 9’5″. Athletic just like his brother, Brady was also tearing it up in the passing department at the Showcase and on his sophomore film, where he could put some noticeable zip on the ball and was comfortable throwing all over the field during 1-on-1s. In his sophomore tape, he was elusive and electric in the open field as a runner, beating defenders with speed and/or quickness, not to mention great balance, and is one of the better athletes on this list at the QB position. Has a good chance to significantly climb up the rankings next season and may see a positional projection switch to ATH as well. Stay tuned.
