Both teams were playing at a high-level both are top 10 teams in Houston. Throughout the whole game, it was competitive despite the weather. Then with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter, the score was 33-24 Atascocita was in the lead the game was delayed due to a lightning warning. The game was delayed for a whole hour almost reaching the time of midnight. After the delay, Atascocita furthered their lead and reached a final score of 47-24. In this article, I’ll be discussing The Atascocita Eagles’ offensive standouts.
#15 Darrell Gill Jr WR Sr 6’3 180 lbs
Darrell Gill Jr is the best wide receiver on Atascocita Eagles’ roster. Darrell is tall, fast, and tough if the ball was short, long or even two defenders covering him Darrell will still catch the pass. One minus I will give Darrell is he was struggling in the beginning because of the rain and his gloves were in the way of catching passes, but once he took them off Darrell was playing at his high level. Darrell just received his 1st college offer from Sul Ross State University. Darrell’s stats were one receiving touchdown.
#14 Claude Slaughter WR Sr 6’2 165 lbs
#14 Claude Slaughter and #15 Darrell Gill Jr make a great wide receiver pair. Claude was great support and usually found a way to get open for passes. Throughout the whole game, I don’t think Claude dropped any passes that he received. If Darrell wasn’t open Claude was the next wide receiver to worry about because he will surely get results. Claude ended the night with one receiving touchdown.
#6 Tory Blaylock Tory Blaylock 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Atastocita | 2025 State TX RB So 5’10 185 lbs
Tory Blaylock Tory Blaylock 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Atastocita | 2025 State TX is making strides in his sophomore season. Whenever Tory got the ball he would rush through the hole, and zoom down the field. Tory was a major threat against Ridge Point by collecting the most rushing yards of the game. Tory not only has speed but power and strength to break tackles. Tory is an important player in only his sophomore year I’m excited to see how he progresses throughout the next two years and the rest of the current playoffs. Tory’s stats were 26 carries, 200 rushing yards, and three touchdowns.
#1 Zion Brown QB Jr 5’11 185 lbs
Zion Brown is an underrated quarterback in the city of Houston. Zion is an efficient passer that gave his receivers good passes putting the offense in great positions. Zion’s main talent however is his speed and scrambling skills. Zion could effortlessly dodge tackles and outrun anyone on the opposing defense. Zion is a double-threat quarterback I don’t understand the slander on him and he keeps on improving week to week and by next season I’m sure he will be a top college prospect on everyone’s radar. Zion’s stats were 2 touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown.
