Gavin Bass Gavin Bass 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Rosemount | 2023 State MN : Rosemount OL 6’3″ 225 lbs
Bass may be a little light for a stereotypical offensive lineman, but that doesn’t appear in his film. Bass has an insanely high motor-which he often demonstrates by always moving his feet. His quick footwork, combined with good hand placement allows for the aggressive and versatile lineman to play anywhere on the front 5 while sustaining his dominance as a run blocker. Bass currently holds one offer from CSP (D2).
Aaron Tawiah Aaron Tawiah 5'11" | 275 lbs | OL Rosemount | 2023 State MN : Rosemount G 6′ 275 lbs
Tawiah, who shares a spot on the offensive line unit with Bass, is a run-blocking unit! Tawiah fires off the ball with great speed while staying low and using leverage well to force defenders out of his gap. His ability to take a defensive tackle and move them around is nearly unmatched, and he does a great job of staying with said tackles throughout the play. Tawiah currently holds no offers.
Tyler Wiese: Stillwater G 6’2″ 225 lbs
Wiese has been an essential piece to Stillwater’s state-run this season. Wiese is very agile and a very well-rounded Guard. He is exceptional in the run game, using his quick first step to gain ground on defenders. When pulling he keeps his pad level low and easily pancakes defenders. If he’s beaten in pass pro, he uses his quick feet and long wingspan to recover. Wiese currently holds no offers.
Dylan Sinykin Dylan Sinykin 6'1" | 295 lbs | OL Minnetonka | 2023 MN : Minnetonka G 6’1″ 290 lbs
Sinykin was a very underrated part of what I consider the second-best offensive line unit in MN. He didn’t have any film from the 2022 season, but I was able to dig and watch his teammate’s film and find his from previous years. Sinykin’s big frame is ideal for moving defensive linemen out of gaps. He does an excellent job of getting to the second level and is able to use his strength to bully linebackers. Sinykin currently holds no offers.
Cecil Wilson: Lakeville North T 6’4″ 285 lbs
Wilson was an anchor on the right side of the line for the Panthers this season. The big man was able to stop a vast majority of bull-rushes using his sheer size to absorb the oncoming defender. He shines through the most in pass-pro, he locks on with solid hand placement and rarely gets beat across his face. Against high-level pass rushers and bigger opponents, he uses leverage well and engages his hands quickly. He stonewalls defenders in the run game, which leads to most of his opponents staying stunned and unable to react in time to make a play. He currently holds no offers.
Jack Koivisto: White Bear Lake C/G 6′ 245 lbs
Koivisto has been an incredibly quick, agile, and versatile lineman for White Bear Lake this year. Extremely underrated in my opinion, Koivisto has a lot of what you look for in a college-level lineman. His footwork in pass-pro is great and he consistently makes plays at the second level and beyond. When he pulls he keeps his pads low, picks up speed quickly, and pancakes defenders. You get a tremendously underrated player by combining his speed, agility, high motor, quick feet, and good technique. He currently holds no offers.
Joel Seifried: White Bear Lake T 6’3″ 255 lbs
Seifried, who plays the opposite of Koivisto is equally impressive. This dude is quick for his size, a big sturdy tackle who has fast feet and can get to the second level on run plays. In pass-pro, he has quick hands and high awareness. He’s strong enough to stop powerful bull rushers and quick enough to outmaneuver fast-speed rushers. He makes great use of his hands to stop swimming and rip moves as well. Seifried currently holds 2 offers, one from UW River Falls and one from UW Eau Claire. (D3)
Jai Kalvik Jai Kalvik 6'5" | 255 lbs | OL Hopkins | 2023 State MN : Hopkins T 6’4″ 265 lbs
Kalvik is a big-body tackle whose recruiting stock has risen over the last few weeks. He is comfortable in space and has no problem playing other positions across the line. Even with his big frame, he still has quick feet and fast hands. Something that bigger players often overlook when they just out-muscle opponents. In pass-pro he’s able to absorb bigger pass-rushers, before setting his feet and driving them back. In the run game, he makes good use of his size and hand placement, and can quickly move a defender outside of a gap. Kalvik currently holds 3 offers. The University of Sioux Falls (D2), St. Olaf (D3), and the University of Wisconsin River Falls (D3).
Javon Hannah: Eagan C 6′ 275 lbs
The Eagan Wildcats had a program resurgence this season, and that was in no small part to the stellar offensive line play. Hannah is a good-sized center who is able to drive defenders off the ball and has a good sense of how the defense flows. He comes off the ball low and quick and makes good use of that leverage by consistently finishing defenders. He does a good job of locking his hands onto the opponent’s pads, and once that happens you can usually find the defenders in the dirt. He drives opposing linemen to the second level frequently and would make a solid addition to many college rosters. He currently holds no offers.
Will Caldwell Will Caldwell 6'1" | 210 lbs | OL Forest Lake | 2023 MN : Forest Lake C 6’1″ 230 lbs
Caldwell is a player who far exceeded expectations for him this season. He may appear a little light, but the tradeoff is how explosive he is and how often he gets to the second level. He has a quick first step and loves to bully linebackers and corners when he gets the chance. In pass-pro, he has high awareness and solid hand placement. Caldwell currently holds no offers but interest from a variety of D3 schools.
Andy Klesk: Forest Lake G 6’1″ 270 lbs
Klesk’s recruiting blew up over the summer and I expect it to take off again this winter following a great senior year. He’s a guard with a mean streak and like his teammate Will Caldwell Will Caldwell 6'1" | 210 lbs | OL Forest Lake | 2023 MN , Klesk loves bullying linebackers at the second level. He also boasts very high awareness and picks up blitzes very well. The senior captain currently holds 2 offers, Augsburg and UW River Falls. (D3)
Jack Modhal: Totino Grace IOL 6′ 260 lbs
Modhal’s teammates could not say enough good things about him to me this offseason. The hype was well deserved. Modhal is an aggressive center who frequently beats up the biggest member of the opposing team’s defensive line. Once he gets his hands on you, it’s like you’re on ice skates. He finishes blocks consistently and demands that the ball be run behind him. He also is a very successful long snapper with interest from a wide variety of schools. He currently holds no offers.
Drew Krengel Drew Krengel 6'4" | 265 lbs | OL Totino Grace | 2023 State MN : Totino Grace T 6’4″ 280 lbs
Speaking of Totino Grace linemen, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Drew Krengel Drew Krengel 6'4" | 265 lbs | OL Totino Grace | 2023 State MN . He does a fantastic job of washing defenders down the line, both in a double team or alone. All he needs is a little piece of a defender to completely throw them off their trajectory. He’s also shown the ability to pull as a tackle, something not a lot of people his size can do. You can almost see the fear in a linebacker’s eyes as he rounds the corner and bulldozes them. He has high awareness and breaks off his double teams at the perfect moment so that he is able to pick off the backer. Krengel’s pass-pro is solid as well, as he’s comfortable against a variety of moves. He currently holds one offer from Dakota Wesleyan. (NAIA)
Andy Kaiser Andy Kaiser 6'2" | 255 lbs | OL Eden Prairie | 2023 State MN : Eden Prairie T 6’2″ 255 lbs
Kaiser is the gold standard for offensive linemen. He’s a phenomenal leader off the field and a dominant tackle on it. He’s technically sound and could play any position on the line. He is nothing short of DOMINANT when he’s pulling, as he can clear anyone out of a gap. His quick feet and good footwork definitely help his sustained excellence in the run game, but I cannot understate how valuable his physicality and determination are for the eagles. He shows no fear regardless of opponent and welcomes the challenges blocking 3 and 4-star recruits bring. Kaiser currently holds no offers.
Henry Anderson: Eden Prairie T 6’2″ 280 lbs
Anderson plays tackle opposite of his teammate Kaiser mentioned previously above. He also possesses many of the same skills. He has high awareness when in double teams, and does a great job of sealing the edge for the back to cut off him. He fires off the line and collides with defenders, standing them up like a brick wall. He’s a strong tackle that has had proven success time and time again in the run game. Anderson currently holds no offers.
Ahadu Alemu: Eastview T 6’4″ 305 lbs
This kid is a UNIT. He uses his sheer size to flatten any defender that stays in his path. He throws defenders around like ragdolls. If his team decides to run the ball, whatever defensive end or tackle stands in his path is getting pancaked. If they decide to pass, Alemu cannot be beaten across his face. Defenders struggle to get around him and have a tough time hand-fighting with the giant. Alemu currently holds no offers.
Keaton Brown: Woodbury T 6’4″ 260 lbs
Brown is a big and versatile tackle that could be a game-changer at the next level. Brown’s a mauler in the run game. He’s not afraid to cut block if need be, but he can maul defenders just the same. He can collapse a defender down to clear a gap and has no problems driving defenders downfield. He moves his feet well in pass-pro and is able to use his hands to fend off defenders. Brown currently holds 3 offers, Morningside University (NAIA), Bethel (D3), and UW River Falls (D3).
Amos Suah Amos Suah 6'1" | 285 lbs | OL Osseo | 2023 State MN : Osseo G 6’1″ 270 lbs
This agile and underrated guard was a huge difference-maker for the Orioles this season. Suah is dangerously quick on his feet and has impeccable footwork when pulling. He bodies unsuspecting defensive linemen and will bowl over defenders if given the free release. His ability to work to the second level and stick with quicker guys is unmatched, as he’s proven time and again that he deserves a roster spot at the next level. Suah currently holds no offers.
Preston Keplin Preston Keplin 6'5" | 255 lbs | OL Shakopee | 2023 State MN : Shakopee C 6’5″ 260 lbs
Centers aren’t built like Keplin, but they should be. Keplin is a mauler plain and simple. He ragdolls opponents to the ground, whether it is throwing or pushing them it doesn’t seem to matter to him. His large frame combined with his crazy release off the line of scrimmage makes for an explosive pancake often. Keplin is quite cerebral too. He can pick up blitzes easily and always finds someone to hit. Keplin currently holds no offers.
Dylan Kaiser Dylan Kaiser 6'4" | 285 lbs | OL Farmington | 2023 MN : Farmington T 6’4″ 290 lbs
Kaiser’s film was a little light, but impressive nonetheless. The big man was a unit this year for the Tigers and it showed. Kaiser is a versatile tackle, he has the size and strength of one, but the speed and agility of a guard. He gets solid depth on his pass sets and has shown solid hand placement. He possesses high awareness when picking up stunts and blitzes as well. When he run-blocks, he crashes down hard and kicks defenders out of gaps with ease. He currently holds two offers. One for track and field from Concordia-Chicago (D3), and UW River Falls (D3).
Logan Torkelson Logan Torkelson 6'2" | 265 lbs | OL Saint Michael-Albertville | 2023 MN : STMA T 6’2″ 255 lbs
Torkelson may be a little undersized for a tackle, but he has drive, determination, and grit. He’s extremely comfortable blocking in space and is able to beat bigger defenders with his hands when pass-setting. In fact, I will go as far as to say that his hand-fighting ability can be considered elite among MN tackles. He has a very high motor when run blocking, and never stops moving his feet or looking for another person to attack. He makes good use of leverage against opponents and is able to use this to his advantage when clearing out a defender. He currently holds 0 offers.
Ian Bonneau Ian Bonneau 6'4" | 240 lbs | OL Wayzata | 2023 State MN : Wayzata T 6’5″ 270 lbs
Bonneau is a mammoth of a man from Wayzata who has been going crazy in camps the last offseason. Something I believe he will continue to do. The film breakdown shows a prototypical OT. A big mauler with a mean streak who loves to hit people. A really underrated talent of his is his ability to sell screens. He gets defenders to bite before releasing and hit-sticking a mid-level player. He is an absolute DOG in the run game as well, pancaking defenders left and right. Bonneau currently holds no offers.
Braden Karnitz Braden Karnitz 6'1" | 255 lbs | OL Park Of Cottage Grove | 2023 MN : Park of Cottage Grove C 6′ 280 lbs
Karnitz was the best part of the Wolfpacks Oline in 2022. He gets low and uses his legs to drive defenders off the ball, pushing them far downfield. Smaller defenders pose no threat to Karnitz, he gets under their pads and pancakes them without a problem. Bigger defenders get outworked by his quick feet and explosive first step. He’s a big, explosive, fast, and smart center who will be an asset at the next level. He currently holds one offer from UW Stout (D3).
