While throwing, rushing, and catching a touchdown, Royal pulled off his best Christian McCaffery impression. With elite/game-changing top-line speed and burst, he was too much for the defense to handle. Anytime Royal touched the ball, he maximized his touches and found hidden yards with his quickness. Though he was the fastest guy on the field, Royal showed excellent contact balance and the ability to recover when knocked off his initial path. He also finished runs with physicality when needed and proved he could grind out yards with toughness. The Tallassee product showed poise, power, and proficiency when working the ball downfield. Though he showed effectiveness in the pocket, Ellis excelled at rollouts/ bootlegs and maintained strength and accuracy when throwing on the move. With subtle quickness in his releases, he creates instant separation and can be a mismatch against linebackers and safeties. In an impressive performance against Southside, Stinson also showed an ability to adjust to the ball and make a difficult grab with multiple full-extension diving catches in the game. He's a man amongst boys with a sturdy frame, bully mentality, and subtleness to be a No.1 option. Johnson did a great job of displaying a solid overall skill set against Boaz and was one of the best receivers we observed this week. When the ball is in his hands, he's a wrecking ball with the strength to run through arm tackles, maintain balance through contact, and run with physicality in the open field. However, if Johnson gets into space, he has just enough breakaway speed to do damage and generate chunk plays. This speed is also seen when he has time to work vertical routes and get some steam behind him. The Beauregard product showed flashes of brilliance throughout the game and had to potential to carry a team to a deep playoff run. With elite size, he's an authoritative runner who can bring the hit to a defender, bounce off tackles, and generate yards after contact. Though he's a physical runner, Tarver moves well for his size and has enough explosion/burst to get to the second level and make things happen.
