Proceeds from the game go to benefit the Metro School located in downtown Charlotte, which educates children with a myriad of disability conditions.
Let’s take a look at this year’s running backs:
Wisdom Holmes – Parkwood – Wisdom was a unanimous selection to the game among the Executive Committee and the Media involved in the selection process – a very rare feat. Wisdom is not the biggest player size-wise, but his speed/power combination is super impressive and he simply is a hard player to corral and tackle, a great feature for a running back, obviously.

– Cox Mill – Committed to Mercer University in Georgia, Coard elected not to play to prepare for the next level, but he has excellent balance when he runs. I love his vision to always find yardage, and he has the breakaway speed you love to see. He also can catch passes out of the backfield – he caught a game-winning pass in a huge game against Hickory Ridge to help earn Cox Mill a home playoff game.
Layton Duke – Metrolina Christian – The main things I think about with Duke are production and reliability – he was an All-Conference player who always runs hard and that hard running sometimes resulted in some incredible runs on his film where you have no idea how he broke 6-7 tackles and running for a TD, but it happened. Love his effort and gets better with each carry he gets.
Keegan Moose – Mt. Pleasant – Anyone who has the nickname “TD” before their last name, know they are a special player. Moose was the focal point of the Tigers game plan all season long, yet he consistently put up 100 and 200-yard rushing games with multiple touchdowns. He runs hard, has excellent vision, and can even play a pretty good defensive back on top of that!

– Ashbrook – ‘Melo’ has been one of my favorite players for a long time, since his JV days at Ashbrook as a sophomore. Excellent vision, athleticism, open field speed, he’s a full package at the position. He can split out and catch passes as well. Excellent character and hard-working off the field, he will be an asset to a program on the next level.
Jawarn Howell – Mooresville – A big reason why the Blue Devils won their conference championship and a high seed in the playoffs, it’s amazing he doesn’t have more recruiting attention in my opinion. He has the size at 6’1 and 205 pounds, he runs away from everyone in the open field, he has the power to run you over, and he has the strength to play immediately on the next level. Will be a steal.
Nehemiah “Sirr” Stovall – East Gaston – A player that most people may not know outside of Gaston County, he is SPEED personified. East Gaston is a run-heavy offense, and he is their home run hitter. At 5’8 and 170 pounds, he can kind of get lost behind his offensive line, and then pop out the backdoor with a big run.
